The Sherwin-Williams Enterprise Financial, Planning & Analytics team provides centralized planning and forecasting for Sherwin-Williams' global businesses. This includes partnering with the company's business units to develop an accurate view and expectation of business drivers enabling business strategy and action. The Financial Manager position has the opportunity to gain exposure to many of the company's operating units and interact with leaders of the organization. This position communicates regularly with various levels of leadership, enterprise finance networks, and representatives from various functional teams. This position works both independently and collaboratively to lead forward-looking workstreams focused on improvement, optimization, and driving financial outcomes across different levels of the organization. A successful candidate will be asked to continuously improve in financial forecasting and planning, models, processes, and related reporting to communicate ideas and expectations clearly. CORE RESPONSIBILITIES AND TASKS The ideal candidate will demonstrate a strong work ethic, ability to work well under pressure, and the skills to manage competing priorities in a fast-paced work environment. Strong organizational and time-management skills, with the ability to adjust and reprioritize as needed, while maintaining a strict adherence to deadlines is critical. Attention to detail, as well as a desire and ability to problem solve through complex financial situations is a must. Core responsibilities of this role include:
- Global enterprise process owner of Corporate Consolidated forecasting, including support of:
- P&L, Balance Sheet, and Cash Flow modeling
- Analytical reviews of actuals against forecast
- Other strategic and long-range modeling
- Ownership of Corporate allocations to business units, including determination of allocation basis and methodology
- Responsibility for updating and maintaining Enterprise FP&A calendar / cadence of planning events
- Other ad hoc support as requested, which could include preparation of Board and/or Audit Committee materials and quarterly earnings support
- Execute responsibilities according to lawful and company standards, which includes the company's seven guiding values: integrity, people, service, quality, performance, innovation, and growth
POSITION REQUIREMENTS FORMAL EDUCATION: Required:
- Bachelor's Degree in Accounting, Finance or Business Administration with a focus in Finance or Accounting
Preferred:
- Master's degree in Accounting or Finance or an MBA with a focus in Accounting, Finance or related field
- CPA or CMA certification
KNOWLEDGE & EXPERIENCE: Required:
- 7+ years of finance and/or accounting experience, with 5+ years of Corporate FP&A related experience
- Experience building, utilizing and implementing forecasting systems, tools and financial models, including scenario modeling
- Experience in developing or improving forecasting processes and leveraging thorough financial analysis to drive actionable insights
- Experience with the quarterly earnings process for a large public company, including preparation of Executive-level materials to support earnings calls, development of guidance, peer analysis, and/or consensus updates
- Progressive experience working on teams in a lead role with experience managing projects, leading meetings, and tracking issues.
- Highly analytical, with strong proficiencies in written and verbal communication, executive presence, and presentation skills.
- People management experience with cross-functional teams, especially in driving execution and delivering a high-quality work product within expected timeframes.
Preferred:
- Experience supporting Corporate and Consolidated company forecasting processes and long-range modeling, including acquisitions/divestitures and capital deployment strategies.
TECHNICAL/SKILL REQUIREMENTS: Required:
- Ability to forecast consolidated P&L, balance sheet, and cash flow using financial modeling and scenario analysis
- Ability to build scalable financial models and ad hoc reporting to facilitate decision making
- Experience in modeling and synthesizing complex financial analysis, operational, and KPI data
- Advanced level of proficiency with Microsoft Excel and forecasting tools or systems (e.g., OneStream)
- Experience implementing new financial processes
Preferred:
- Experience with financial planning cycles, including annual operating plan and budgeting
- Familiarity with Oracle GL Cloud, JV Drill, OneStream
