RN - Emergency Department Residency/Fellowship Program
Overview Presbyterian's Emergency Department (ED) Nurse Residency program offers a year-long clinical training/educational program that utilizes the Emergency Nursing Orientation Curriculum coursework developed by the Emergency Nurses Association (ENA). ED Nurse Residents will experience increased skills and confidence in patient-care assessments, decision-making, prioritization and critical-thinking skills. Hands-on clinical experience will occur under the supervision of an experienced ED preceptor. Residents will obtain continuing education credits upon completion of the ENOC modules Newly licensed and experienced nurses are welcome to apply. Qualified candidates must have a current New Mexico RN license and an associate's degree in nursing (completion of a BSN degree is required within five years of hire). Residents will be hired as full-time nursing staff "in training" with full benefits. Hours will be variable and at various sites. Two year post-course completion work commitment agreement required. Residents who successfully complete the program's objectives will be interviewed for permanent full-time ED staff nurse positions at Presbyterian Hospital, Rust Medical Center, and Presbyterian Kaseman Hospital.
