Job Summary:
The position will primarily support clinical speech services at the Northwestern University Speech and Language Pathology Clinic on the Chicago campus. As a part of the clinical responsibilities, the individual will be expected to supervise students enrolled in the Speech and Language Pathology program at Northwestern University.
Specific Responsibilities:
- Providing Speech services to clients and patients of the Northwestern Speech Clinic
- Supervising student clinicians in the Northwestern University Speech Clinic
- Perform other related duties as required or assigned.
- Maintaining CEUs in evidence-bases practice
- Maintaining license
- Participation in Research as needed/assigned
Minimum Qualifications:
- A master's or clinical doctorate degree in Speech Language Pathology
- Valid license to practice speech pathology in the state of Illinois.
- Certificate of Clinical Competence from the American Speech Language Hearing Association
Minimum Competencies: (Skills, knowledge, and abilities.)
- Experience in evaluation and treatment of individuals with motor speech, language, cognition, voice, and swallowing disorders in an acute care hospital environment.
- Competence in interpretation of videofluoroscopic swallow studies.
- Familiarity with use of an electronic medical record system.
Preferred Qualifications: (Education and experience)
- Certification in use of the Modified Barium Swallow Impairment Profile
Preferred Competencies: (Skills, knowledge, and abilities)
- Competence in flexible endoscopic evaluation of swallowing
- Experience with speech pathology management of complex intensive care patient populations
Target hiring range for this position will be between $77,000-$92,000 per year. Offered salary will be determined by the applicant's education, experience, knowledge, skills and abilities, as well as internal equity and alignment with market data
