THE POSITION

DESCRIPTION OF WORK

As a Fiscal Aide, you will be tasked with assisting the fiscal unit by documenting and generating all necessary information pertaining to IV-E funding for children in placement. You will have the opportunity to act as a liaison between Children, Youth and Families (CYF) and Blair County Assistance Office (BCAO) for medical coverage for children in placement. Work includes gathering information from parents of children in placement, data entry, and preparing correspondence. This position is responsible for proofreading orders and motions for language needed for funding; verifying accurate language in court documents for IV-E eligibility; as well as creating and maintaining files regarding medical assistance for clients in placement with agency and the Juvenile Probation office, adoptions, subsidized permanent legal custodianships, and Title IV-E. Additional responsibilities include:

  • Ordering birth certificates for child adoptions
  • Preparing and mailing letters to parents for their child's early and periodic screening, diagnostic, and treatment (EPSDT)
  • Maintaining accurate and up to date certificates of compliance for agency and other providers
  • Recording income received for youth
  • Preparing receipts for cash or checks CYF receives, makes bank deposits
  • Sending out appeal letters for subsidized permanent legal custodianship (SPLC) and adoption subsidy recipients

Work Schedule and Additional Information:

  • Full-time employment, 37.5 hours per week
  • Work hours are 8:00 AM to 4:00 PM, Monday - Friday, with a 30-minute lunch.

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE, TRAINING & ELIGIBILITY

QUALIFICATIONS

Minimum Experience and Training Requirements:

  • Six months as a Clerk Typist 1 and educational development to the level of eighth grade; or
  • Completion of a high school business curriculum which included at least one typing course; or
  • Any combination of equivalent experience and training.

Other Requirements:

  • You must be able to perform essential job functions.

Legal Requirements:

  • You must pass a background investigation.
  • A conditional offer of employment will require a drug screening.
  • This position falls under the provisions of the Child Protective Services Law.
    • Under the Law, a conditional offer of employment will require submission and approval of satisfactory criminal history reports including, but not limited to, PA State Police clearance, PA Child Abuse history clearance, and FBI Fingerprint clearance.
