Position Summary

The Distribution Manager for Architectural Framing Systems (AFS) will play a pivotal role in driving the growth of the company by establishing and managing a national network of independent distributors. The ideal candidate will bring a blend of strategic thinking, sales expertise, and operational experience to execute on ambitious growth goals, including increasing revenue by $100 million over the next five years.

Key Responsibilities

  • Strategic Planning:

    • Collaborate with leadership to develop and execute a strategic plan for building a robust distribution network.

    • Align distribution strategies with regional sales managers, outside sales teams, large project salespeople, architectural services teams, and management.

  • Network Development:

    • Identify, prospect, qualify, and close partnerships with independent distributors to buy, fabricate, and distribute AFS products.

    • Open distribution channels in every major metropolitan area across the contiguous United States.

    • Evaluate the need for additional resources to expand the distribution network effectively.

  • Market Development:

    • Identify opportunities to introduce additional products into the distribution channel.

    • Build relationships with prospective partners through proven market development and cold-calling techniques.

  • Collaboration and Leadership:

    • Partner with internal teams to ensure alignment with company goals and foster teamwork.

    • Lead efforts to build and sustain productive relationships with distributors and other stakeholders.

Requirements and Qualifications

  • Education:

    • Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience in distribution operations.

  • Experience:

    • 5-10 years of commercial sales experience, preferably with architectural fenestration products.

    • Previous experience in distribution operations.

    • Experience in team building and working independently to accomplish objectives.

  • Skills:

    • Strong strategic thinking and planning capabilities.

    • Proven track record in cold calling, market development, and closing distribution partnerships.

    • Strong time management, negotiation, and conflict resolution skills.

    • Proven ability to solve complex problems with a transparent and ethical approach.

Positions Goals

  • Build a national network of independent distributors for AFS products.

  • Achieve $100 million revenue growth in the next five years.

  • Significantly increase AFS market share in target markets.

Work Conditions

  • Travel will be required 50% - 70% to different company locations and/or for training purposes
