Live Event/Digital Producer, Digital Event Strategist

Summary:

The AV Technical Manager should have broad, hands-on experience with live event AV integration and multiple years of pre-pro/execution experience. They will report to Manager, Meetings, Events & Video Production and will work largely, but not entirely, unsupervised. They will be responsible for helping maintain a successful video, meetings and event production business to achieve break-even sales and expenses. The AV Technical Manager must be self-motivated and willing to assume responsibility and make decisions for the greater good of the company and its customers. The AV Technical Manager will interact with internal personnel at all levels to ensure continuous effective client relations and participate in the development of department goals to better meet client needs and corporate objectives.

Responsibilities:

  • Acts as resident SME for all aspects of meeting, event and video production.
  • Consults daily with Account Managers, Project Managers, the Resource Center, and suppliers to facilitate proper scoping for accurate RFP estimates and determines scheduling requirements to ensure events are executed on time and within budget.
  • Provides daily feedback regarding project status needs and issues to the RC schedulers, M&E manager and account teams.
  • Responsible for supervising and developing the M&E AV Technicians who are on staff or under contract. Effectively manage crisis situations (i.e., production problems on sets and locations, during work and off hours, and outside emergencies) and can quickly prioritize logistics to accommodate client needs.
  • Needs strong communication skills (written and verbal) and very professional interpersonal skills to work with internal clients (including Corporate Officers and Executives), provide accurate and detailed information to all project stakeholders and effectively interact with staff resources and suppliers alike. Assures all department audio, video and streaming equipment is maintained, facilitates required repairs and coordinates ordering of all department equipment purchases. Assists in new facilities build-out and upgrade efforts from a technical perspective. Fulfills AV Technical Manager role as needed and when appropriate. Understands and enforces the safety codes for meeting rooms and venues both in and outside of Abbott Park. Responsible for compliance with applicable corporate policies and procedures. Must track time on a daily/weekly basis and meet established utilization numbers for this function.

Qualifications:

  • Minimum Education: Bachelor's Degree in Telecommunications (Audio/Video Production),
  • Communications, Theater Production,
  • Marketing or an equivalent combination of experience and coursework in video production, audio/visual production for live events or other relevant area(s) of study is strongly preferred.
  • Exceptions based on equivalent experience at manager's discretion.
  • Minimum 10-15 Years' Experience /Training Required:
  • The AV Technical Manager must possess significant knowledge and experience in each of the following: current digital video production technology, web streaming systems/platforms and production of, and audio/video systems for, live corporate meetings and events.
  • The AV Technical Manager must have significant hands on experience with pre-production and onsite execution of live web-based video streaming events.



Minimum Education: BA/BS required. Master's degree desirable.

Must be able to determine objectives to assignments while prioritizing competing priorities and schedules.

Key Stakeholders: Position represents the BSG organization as a primary contact for area of responsibility. Interacts with senior internal stakeholders and external customers on significant matters often requiring coordination between organizations. BSG M&E Team, BSG Account/Project Managers, BSG Director Level Staff, Corporate, R&D Senior Staff and all members of the Executive Leadership Team
