Salary Range: $150,000 - $170,000

The AVP, Enterprise Risk Management Analyst reports to the Head of Enterprise Risk and provides second line oversight and effective challenge for risks across Apple Bank. This position will support the Head of Enterprise Risk by executing the operational risk framework, including but not limited to, risk and control assessments, controls testing, exposure monitoring, issues and actions management, key risk indicators, scenario analyses, etc. Additionally, the Analyst identifies bank wide risk issues and monitors risk profiles within the risk appetite and contributes to escalation and accurate reporting to risk governance committees and supports the business on the identification and timely reporting of incidents.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Risk Assessment: Analyze and assess the bank's credit, liquidity, interest rate, and capital risk exposures, including stress testing and scenario analysis
  • Risk Mitigation: Implement risk mitigation strategies and action plans to minimize the impact of identified risks including credit, liquidity, interest rate, and capital risks effectively.
  • Policy Development: Create and maintain risk management policies and procedures in line with regulatory requirements and industry best practices.
  • Monitoring and Reporting: Continuously monitor risk exposure and provide regular reports to senior management. Participate in development of risk management KPIs and KRIs.
  • Collaboration: Work closely with other departments (Lending, Finance, Treasury, Internal Audit, Legal, & Compliance) to ensure a coordinated approach to risk management.
  • Credit Scoring Models: Support the Chief Credit Risk Officer in maintaining and evaluating the Bank's credit scoring models.
  • Committees: Serve on multiple risk committees as acting secretary to take and distribute notes and minutes.
  • Country Risk Management: Evaluate countries, assign risk ratings, report risk concentrations, assess downside scenarios.
  • Toolset Administration: Serve as lead Governance, Risk & Compliance (GRC) system administrator to support risk activities (i.e., issue/action management, risk assessments, control testing, etc.).

ADDITIONAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Oversee GRC toolset with stakeholders across the business to support risk activities including issue remediation, self-assessments, control testing, and policy management.
  • Communicate with business line partners to effectively understand risk and control effectiveness.
  • Create and/or use data to identify risk trends and make risk-based decisions or recommendations.
  • Perform other duties as requested.

SKILLS, EDUCATION, & EXPERIENCE

  • Bachelor's degree preferred.
  • 3-7 years of risk management experience in the financial services industry, focusing on at least one of the following risk stripes: credit risk, liquidity risk, market risk and/or enterprise risk management.
  • Strong understanding of risk management principles, regulatory requirements, and industry best practices related to credit risk or liquidity, interest rate, and capital risk.
  • Proficiency in risk management software and tools, as well as Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Power BI, Power Builder). Ability to produce and comprehend complex Excel reports capable of tracking trends, variances, and exceptions.
  • Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
  • Strong communication skills (written + verbal) to effectively interact with stakeholders at all levels.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and build relationships with senior management and stakeholders.
  • Highly organized with exceptional attention to detail and follow-through.
  • Ability to adapt quickly to various industries and businesses.
  • Ability to self-direct, analyze, evaluate, and form independent judgments.
  • Commercially savvy with the ability to exercise discretion with highly confidential/sensitive information.
  • Strong strategic and critical thinking skills, including the ability to analyze problems and develop proposed solutions.
