Job Purpose |
Reporting to the Executive Vice President for Academic Affairs and Provost, the Executive Director for Finance and Personnel provides fiscal planning, financial management, staff personnel operations, revenue planning and performance, and organizational and business matters for the Office of the Provost, the schools, and the subdivisions under the purview of the Provost. |
Minimum Requirements |
Master's degree preferred, in business, finance, accounting, or a closely related discipline.
CPA preferred. Expectation of 5 years of progressively responsible experience leading and managing financial and business operations at another university or an equivalent large, complex organization. Candidates with an equivalent combination of experience and/or education will be considered. |
Required Knowledge, Skills and Abilities |
Demonstrated leadership skills and the ability to establish short- and long-term priorities, develop strategic approaches to problem solving, and interact effectively with a broad diversity of audiences and constituencies.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
Strong analytical, data management and technical skills. |
Additional Comments Regarding Position |
Must be able to travel to conferences and workshops as needed. |

Plans, develops, and coordinates the preparation of analyses and reports including, but not limited to: operational and capital budgets, fiscal proposals, including for annual and multi-year planning, financial statements, statistical reports, cost analyses, and other financial information.
Monitors the financial status and performance of schools and units reporting to the Office of the Provost and partners with them to resolve financial issues.
Provides regular reporting on financial performance and other topics, as requested, including enrollment and revenue projections. |

Oversees the annual division-wide budget development process for the Office of the Provost, including close collaborative work with key members of the Business Affairs team. Directs the development and administration of the divisional budget and large budget projects, including strategic divisional budget planning, reporting, analyses, and communication of institutional policies and procedures. |

Serves as a primary liaison to Business Affairs team on fiscal matters for the division and the Office of the Provost. Interprets and applies institutional and divisional policies that address the use of institutional and Foundation-held funds, including funds awarded to the College by external granting agencies. Contributes to decisions about complex methodologies involving inter-campus relationships and cost allocations, partnering with colleagues where appropriate. |
