Bioinformatics Postdoctoral Associate Biotechnology Resource Center Bioinformatics Facility Research and Innovation This postdoctoral associate position is funded by a USDA SCRI-funded research project on using genomics tools for hybrid grape breeding. It has two main objectives:
The incumbent will work collaboratively with grape breeders and researchers to conduct bioinformatics analyses of genomic sequencing data. These analyses will include long-read assembly, shotgun & amplicon sequencing based genotyping, as well as the integration of high-throughput phenotyping data. The candidate will also support public hybrid grape breeding programs by providing breeding decision services. In addition to employing standard genomic data analysis methods, the candidate will explore and apply new approaches leveraging Large Language Models (LLMs) for deep learning in genomics, where applicable. This position is a one-year term appointment renewable contingent upon continued funding. Requirements: Applicants must hold a Ph.D. in bioinformatics or a related field, with demonstrated experience in analyzing genomic sequencing data. Desired Skills and Knowledge:
