Kennedy Jenks is seeking a Senior Instrumentation and Controls Engineer in one of our many locations across the country. The ideal candidate will have experience in instrumentation and controls engineering for municipal pump stations and water and wastewater facilities to join our growing practice providing multi-discipline engineering and environmental solutions to clients in the water environment and industrial sectors. Candidates will be considered for any of our office locations, with the opportunity to work both from home and in the office.

Key Responsibilities:

As part of our team, you will provide consulting services and technical leadership in the Instrumentation and Controls area. You will work closely with the Discipline Leader for Instrumentation and Controls, as well as other I&C and electrical engineers and designers. This challenging work will involve projects from initial planning stages through design and construction. This role may also include serving as a Project Manager for specific assignments or projects.



  • Provide instrumentation and control system design with our multi-discipline project teams through self-performance and delegation
  • Work with the I&C discipline lead to assist with QA/QC functions and standards development to improve the efficiency and quality of our work products, and to provide scopes and budgets to support new proposal/project endeavors
  • Collaborate directly with clients across the company's geographic footprint
  • Provide detailed process control system designs
  • Develop instrumentation and control strategies for industrial processes
  • Design SCADA system architecture, perform feasibility studies, and provide cost estimates
  • Conduct field studies and provide field support during construction and startup


Qualifications:



  • Ten or more years of experience as a consulting control systems engineer in the detailed design of large infrastructure projects such as pump stations and water and wastewater treatment facilities
  • Preferred experience includes serving as a lead engineer in the design and specification of instrumentation systems for pumping applications, developing Process & Instrumentation Diagrams (P&IDs), control strategies, PLC programming, and SCADA system programming
  • Bachelor's or Master's in Electrical Engineering
  • Registration as a Control Systems Engineer in at least one state with the ability to gain reciprocity in other states

The salary range for this position is anticipated to be $130,000 to $175,000 and may vary based on education, experience, qualifications, licensure/certifications, and geographic location.
