Summary

The IG Compliance Coordinator is responsible for producing a variety of work product related to information governance across all offices. Work product includes, but is not limited to, the management of records life cycle associated with paper file management, client response audits and data governance of the records management system. The Coordinator must be able to work effectively with a variety of law firm members, including numerous lawyers, paralegals, and staff members. In all situations, it is expected that the Coordinator will maintain the highest levels of respect, confidentiality and professionalism in the execution of the responsibilities.

Required Education & Experience



  • College Degree or equivalent work experience.
  • 3-4 years law firm or records management experience.
  • Strong computer skills required.


Preferred Education & Experience



  • Law Firm experience preferred.


Essential Functions

  • Information Governance (90%)

    • Coordinates client audit responses.
    • Works closely with Manager/Supervisor to implement retention / disposition policies for client and firm records.
    • Responsible for projects related to internal audits for all warehouse activity.
    • Responsible for documenting disposition in automated IG systems and ensuring that actual records destruction occurs within Firm guidelines.
    • Responsible for searching for materials which may not be readily available to find resolution for requestors.
    • Responsible for gathering and documenting the client requests to release their paper file sets. Communicates with the IG Matter Mobility Specialists to ensure that coordination of file sets are released together timely.
    • Maintains Transition Centers to ensure records are organized and easily retrieved.
    • Responsible to ensure daily requests are met across all offices.
    • Responsible for keeping the records locations accurately documented within the records system.


  • General and Administrative (10%)

    • Performs other duties as assigned.

Work Environment & Physical Demands

This job operates in a professional office environment. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, filing cabinets and fax machines. While performing the responsibilities of the position, these work environment characteristics are representative of the environment the person in this position will encounter. While performing the duties of this job, the employee will work in a professional, fast paced office environment that may require additional hours to complete work.
