Overview:

The Director, Shopper and Customer Marketing position is critical in developing and driving shopper engagement and conversion by delivering impactful, insightful, and precision targeted activations along the omni-channel shopper journey, with an increased focus in driving premiumization of in-store POS excellence.

Responsibilities:
  • Lead and elevate a Shopper Team with the strategy, development, execution, and creation of Shopper Marketing, Value-Added Services (VAS), and National Promotions teams to deliver seamless omni-channel activations across all brands and retailers.
  • Drive and implement shopper annual planning process and serve as Shopper voice across IAT / Brand integration and planning
  • Lead agency partners across Shopper Marketing and VAS executions
  • Elevate Point of Sale (POS) execution by aligning with global guidelines, improving retailer-specific strategies, and ensuring consistent and impactful consumer touchpoints.
  • Provide Sales/trade expertise in the proposal, acceptance, execution and management of all programs and supporting materials and ensure alignment across all sales and marketing teams for field sales execution to obtain profitable results
  • Co-develop, with Marketing, an annual volume and spending plan for the category and brands. Oversee shopper marketing and promotional fund allocation and targets, communicating results of programs, and using data to continuously improve programs
  • Track performance, on an ongoing basis, to ensure that volume goals are achieved within spending parameters. Incorporate review of problem/opportunity markets with focus on development of action plan to address, as integral part of the planning process.
  • Train, develop, and inspire a high-performing team to deliver innovative and effective shopper marketing solutions.
Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree/ MBA preferred
  • Minimum of 10+ years experience in fast moving consumer packaged goods environment with sales and/or marketing experience (SCM experience preferred)
  • Beauty/premium beauty category experience preferred
  • Strong leadership qualities and experience leading a team
  • Experience using syndicated data sources such as Nielsen and/or IRI
  • Agency management experience
  • Adept at analyzing and applying Consumer/Shopper Insights in Category Management sales stories and Category Management strategies
  • Ability to create compelling and insightful sales presentations
  • Strong knowledge of marketing and sales principals, as well as strong strategic and analytical skills
  • Excellent communication skills and interpersonal skills
  • Must be action-oriented, organized, demonstrating the ability to lead and motivate others
  • Proficient knowledge and use of MS Office. SAP experience beneficial.
