2025 Summer IT Workplace Services Intern - End User, Workplace, and Site Experience Department Summary We are looking for a highly skilled individual who is passionate about providing world-class customer service & technical support to Genentech end users at the South San Francisco campus. As an On Site Support IT Workplace Services Intern, you will assist with organic walk-ups and pre-booked appointments at our 5 IT Bar locations, Lab & Supply Chain Enablement support for personnel in business critical environments, and Digital Media & Events support. This internship position is located in South San Francisco, On-site. The Opportunity
Troubleshoot multiple computer platforms and hardware/software, including but not limited to: Windows, MacOS, iOS devices, tablets, desktops, laptops, etc. This also includes supporting hundreds of enterprise and departmental applications. Provide resolutions to technical problems of varying scope and complexity related to a multitude of services & environments - this includes general IT user support, AV support for events, as well as technical support in labs, manufacturing spaces, and warehouses. Act as a digital enabler for our business & core functions, as well as an owner of the digital employee experience for the SSF site. You will be the first point of escalation for a number of business critical groups & manage the relationship with these stakeholders with tact, diplomacy, and professionalism. Drive employee productivity through consultancy, ensure a personalized Roche employee experience, drive adoption of standard workplace tools, and participate in global/regional/local projects in collaboration with agile product teams. Create, resolve, and close incidents/requests within allocated timelines. Assist with IT hardware lifecycle management & deskside support processes/managed services for the site.
Program Highlights
Intensive 12 months, full-time (40 hours per week) paid internship. Program start date is in May/June (Summer). A stipend, based on location, will be provided to help alleviate costs associated with the internship. Ownership of challenging and impactful business-critical projects. Work with some of the most talented people in the biotechnology industry.
Who You Are (Required) Required Education. You meet one of the following criteria: - Must have attained a Bachelor's Degree from an accredited four-year school (not currently enrolled in a graduate program). Required Majors: Computer Science or any IT-specific field. Required Skills:
You hold a Bachelor's Degree in an IT discipline from an accredited four-year school, have graduated within the last 2 years, and are able to work 40 hours a week for the next year at the South San Francisco campus. You are passionate about innovation, achieving results, and initiating process improvements. You have strong organizational and multi-tasking skills, along with the ability to prioritize tasks among many competing requests. You have outstanding customer service and interpersonal skills & communicate clearly with technical and non-technical audiences (both verbally and written) via a variety of channels. You thrive under pressure & are skilled at providing on-demand technical support in a complex, fast-paced, user-facing environment. You have experience with, or interest in, walk-up IT support, deskside support, lab & manufacturing support at a BioTech company, event support, and providing virtual assistance to users working remotely.

Relocation benefits are not available for this job posting. The expected salary range for this position based on the primary location of California is $45 hour. Actual pay will be determined based on experience, qualifications, geographic location, and other job-related factors permitted by law.
