GENERAL SUMMARY

The Manufacturing Engineer Tech is responsible for assisting manufacturing engineers in the support of manufacturing process improvement, process/procedure documentation, capital project implementation, cost reductions, and shop floor production support

PRINCIPAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES (ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS)

  • Design work holding & cutting tool technology.
  • Lead small improvement projects.
  • Perform time studies.
  • Assist in the development of layouts and floorplans.
  • Conduct tests and assist in troubleshooting equipment.
  • Document test procedures and results.
  • Assist in writing work instructions.
  • Participate in continuous improvement activities.
  • Develop routings using ERP system.
  • Create, modify & maintain CNC programs.
  • Create, modify & maintain piece part routings.
  • Assist machine operators with troubleshooting problems and new part programs.
  • Work closely with manufacturing engineers to justify new or replacement tooling, machines, and equipment.


EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE

  • Associate's degree (or equivalent) in manufacturing technology, manufacturing engineering, mechanical engineering, or industrial engineering, a 2-year technical degree background.
  • 3 years of experience in manufacturing processes, machining equipment, tooling, and NC programming.


KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES

  • Must be able to communicate and work effectively with vendors and employees at all levels.
  • Ability to utilize Microsoft Office programs such as Word and Excel.
  • Hands-on machining experience is a plus.
  • Proficient with the latest Mastercam CAM software for CNC program creation and verification.
  • Basic understanding of geometric dimensions and tolerances (GD&T).
  • SolidWorks, AutoCAD (DraftSight), MasterCAM, Renishaw Probing.
  • 2 & 3 Axis CNC Programming.


PHYSICAL DEMANDS

  • Factory floor support is imperative.
  • Must be able to see and move throughout the plant in order to resolve work problems and facilitate processes.
  • Occasional handling of material and components.
  • May have contact with caustic substances in some areas of the plant.
  • Must be able to tolerate long hours in a shop environment and support after-hours business needs as they arise.


WORKING CONDITIONS

Normal manufacturing and office environment. When working occasionally in some shop areas, personal protection equipment (PPE) will be recommended and/or required (safety shoes, safety glasses w/side shields, hearing protection, face shield, gloves, apron and boots). Must have the ability to support extended business hours to meet customer business needs.

SALARY AND BENEFITS

DeZURIK offers a competitive hourly rate in the $23.44 to $35.15 range, based on experience and qualifications, along with annual bonus opportunities tied to performance.
