Local Sales Leader

What You'll Do

The Local Sales Leader will play a pivotal role in driving sales performance and fostering a strong team culture. This role involves coordinating with the national sales team, local office leadership, mentoring associate producers (APs), recruiting, and acting as a key point of contact for both internal and external stakeholders. The ideal candidate will be a strategic thinker with excellent leadership skills and a passion for developing talent.

ESSENTIAL JOB RESPONSIBILITIES include but are not limited to:



  • Supports and demonstrates IMA's core values
  • Values and understands the importance of diversity, equity, and inclusion among all IMA associates.
  • Sales Coordination and Leadership:

    • Organize and lead monthly sales meetings for the local office, focusing on wins, major activities, and internal resource education.
    • Collaborate with the national sales team to align strategies and share insights.
    • Support and participate in AP development activities & events such as the IMA Cup and Base Camp


  • Associate Producer Management:

    • Conduct regular 1:1 meetings with each AP to review their sales activity, including sales calls, COI (Centers of Influence) development, and networking activities.
    • Oversee the AP Mentorship Program by assigning mentors, coaching the AP/Mentor teams, and ensuring proper protocol adherence during monthly meetings, marketing/business plan development, and JV deals.
    • Solicit regular feedback from mentors to continuously improve the mentorship program.


  • Recruiting and Hiring:

    • Partner with the Talent Acquisition team to source, interview, and hire new producers.
    • Achieve annual goals of recruiting, onboarding and validation.


  • HR Responsibilities:

    • Act as the direct supervisor for all APs, managing their PTO, compensation, performance reviews, and other HR-related functions.


  • Sales Leadership:

    • Report to the Regional Sales Leader on all sales activities within the local office.
    • Attend and actively participate in regional sales meetings and events.
    • Serve as a resource for local producers, connecting them with the broader IMA sales organization.





You Should Have

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE AND SKILLS include but are not limited to:



  • 7 to 10 years of similar or related experience
  • Proven experience in a sales management role within the insurance industry.
  • Strong leadership and team-building skills with a track record of managing and developing sales teams.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to mentor and inspire others.
  • Experience in recruiting, hiring, and HR management.
  • Ability to analyze sales performance and develop strategic plans.
  • Proficiency in Salesforce.
  • Attain and maintain professional designation or license.

Salary Range
$140,000 $175,000 USD
