Job Description:

The Social Media Intern will be creating engaging social media reels that capture the dining experience at Boise State.

In addition to being a social media intern, they will be a Boost intern working closely with Boise State Dining and the Boost Marketing Team to implement and promote the Boost mobile ordering app on-campus. Driving app awareness, adoption and usage through marketing campaigns, social media, experiential marketing, and more. Bring creativity and knowledge of the campus and fellow students to the role by testing and implementing new marketing strategies/tactics while appropriately representing Boost and Boise State brand.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Collaboratively managing social media accounts
  • Create reels with our local retail locations to increase awareness
  • Collaboratively creating reels to increase Boost engagement
  • Devise a planner for weekly social media content
  • Assist with the creation of campaigns, and promotional opportunities to drive awareness, adoption and usage of the Boost mobile ordering app
  • Assist with planning, organizing and hosting Boost tabling events
  • Creation of Boost social media content, including photos, videos, and reels
  • Assist in social media calendar development and promotions
  • Act as a brand representative for Boost
  • Become digitally certified through Boost Marketing & technology modules
  • Survey students to collect marketing research
  • Order and edit marketing materials via the Boost Higher Ed Portal
  • Manage signage in multiple locations
  • Track app downloads via QR code and social download links and report on key marketing metrics

Hours to work: 25 hours per week, in-person (10 - Boost, 15 - Social Media)

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Social media and video editing proficient
  • Experienced in using Canva, Photoshop or other photo editors
  • Intern should have Monday-Thursday available to work to get content. Flexible on the weekends.
  • Excellent communication skills, written and verbal
  • Customer service experience/knowledge
  • Knowledge of social media platforms and content creation
  • Good interpersonal skills
  • General interest and knowledge of marketing and technology
  • Prior marketing-related experience is a plus
Job Summary

This position is paid, but not eligible for benefits such as medical, relocation, or housing.

Because this position requires you to perform services in an educational facility, there may be periods when the Company does not require you to perform work (such as winter and summer breaks when food service needs decline or cease). Any such periods during which you do not perform work on the Company's behalf may be unpaid and deemed a temporary layoff. However, depending on business needs, you may be required to work year-round, potentially at a different location during break periods. Business needs may vary from year to year.
