Rutgers, The State University of New Jersey is seeking a Research Project Assistant for the Rutgers Neuropsychology Laboratory (PI: Michelle Chen, PhD) within the Institute of Health, Health Care Policy and Aging Research (
IFH). The research project assistant will participate in several research projects funded by the National Institutes of Health (
NIH) and other funding agencies.
Among the key duties of the position are the following:
- Subject recruitment, community engagement, and coordination of study visits.
- Conducts paper-and-pencil and computerized assessments and/or behavioral interventions.
- Assists the principal investigator in preparing regulatory documentation for the institutional review board and funding agencies.
- Trains new research staff and students.
- Provides general administrative support (e.g., ordering supplies, record keeping).
- Data management and analysis.
- Performs literature reviews.
- Assists with preparation of grant proposals and research dissemination (e.g., conference presentations, manuscript writing).

Qualifications
Minimum Education and Experience |
- Bachelor's degree in a related scientific field, including psychology, neuropsychology, neuroscience, and public health.

Certifications/Licenses |
- Driver's license is required as the job will require traveling to research participants' homes for research visits.
|
Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities |
- Candidate must be well-organized, detail-oriented, be able to manage multiple projects at once by prioritizing tasks to meet deadlines, and be able work collaboratively.
- Required skills include excellent written and oral communication skills.
- Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, and Excel.

Preferred Qualifications |
- At least 2 years of experience conducting or assisting with academic research in a related field.
- Proficient knowledge of R or Python coding language.
- Experience in manuscript and grant writing.
- Intermediate statistical knowledge.
