Job Summary

In addition to the executive assistant duties for the community hospitals' CFO & CMO, this position will also work closely with hospital departments, legal team, and payor contract team on additional duties, such as LOA process, Cyberknife JV reimbursement, hospital manual statistics, Burn unit survey coordination, Cash deposit log and other statutory filling. This position also works very closely with hospital finance and administration to provide some level of support.

The final salary and offer components are subject to additional approvals based on UC policy.
Your placement within the salary range is dependent on a number of factors including your work experience and internal equity within this position classification at UCSF. For positions that are represented by a labor union, placement within the salary range will be guided by the rules in the collective bargaining agreement. The annual salary range for this position is $63,700 - $136,100.

Department Description

The CFO's office is an integral piece of the UCSF Health Network business unit. The team relies upon us to provide strategic recommendations on the financial viability of UCSF Health community hospitals, advise on how to achieve its goals and then assist achieving the organization's vision by aligning with each other and acting as a compass. Our Finance team discovers and highlights opportunities to maximize utilization, operational efficiency, and the economic impacts of strategic operational decisions.

Required Qualifications


  • Bachelor's degree in a related area OR four years of equivalent experience/training.
  • Three or more years of related work experience.
  • Interpersonal skills include verbal and written communication, active listening, critical thinking, persuasiveness, advising, and counseling skills.
  • Knowledge of various administrative operational activities such as event planning, contracts and grants regulations and guidelines.
  • Ability to use discretion and maintain confidentiality.

Preferred Qualifications


  • Thorough knowledge of University rules and regulations, processes, protocols, and procedures for budget, accounting and fund management, and/or personnel management.
  • Solid knowledge of MS4, Office 365, and other UCSF application programs.
  • Strong skills in short-term planning, analysis, problem-solving, and customer service.
  • Thorough knowledge of financial analysis, reporting techniques, and/or human resources policies and procedures for staff and employees.
