The position supports a project that aims to investigate and understand the difference in these measurements, the cause of any reliability or charging failures, and provide potential solutions for providers to maximize the reliability of chargers. The project focuses on Direct Current Fast Chargers (DCFCs) across California and will separately explore the charging reliability experience in different communities in California including urban, rural, and low-income communities (LIC) and disadvantaged communities (DACs). Travel between sites occasionally requires overnight stays to accommodate long-distance trips. Department Overview The Electric Vehicle Research Center, part of the Institute of Transportation Studies at UC Davis conducts consumer-focused research to understand the purchase decision, driving and charging patterns, and policy impacts on electric vehicle adoption. The EV Research Center was established in 2007, and works with a variety of state and federal agencies, companies, and foundations to try to measure, monitor, and forecast the EV transition and the impacts on society, the economy, and the environment in CA, nationally, and internationally. The EV Research Center has a multidisciplinary staff of full-time researchers, and employs graduate and undergraduate students to support its research and outreach efforts. POSITION INFORMATION
