Position Summary

We are looking for a Shift Supervisor to support operations, provide leadership and ensure proper communication with other Production Shifts.

The Shift Supervisor will be responsible for process assurance by identifying and communication roadblocks, while completing first level of investigation, and support Test Engineering Validation team through technical issues to resolve them.

The selected will work alongside Test Technicians and Test Engineering Validation team to ensure proper flow of test operations to achieve production goals. You will support wherever the need is within the test areas (Payload, Platform, DITL, Final Tests). The Shift Supervisor is the responsible and accountable function to secure production goals are met and roadblocks are mitigated, and human resources are properly managed.

Position Responsibilities:



  • Completes tasks according to a defined manufacturing schedule.
  • Coordinates day to day activities; expedites and resolves day to day issues.
  • Ensure proper communication for smooth transitions between shifts.
  • Conduct shift team meetings. Maintain safety topics, review safety books, and take appropriate corrective actions. Participate in accident investigations. Adhere to HSE policies and procedures
  • Identifies appropriate resources to resolve routine issues. Reviews short term capacity constraints and makes adjustments as appropriate.
  • Maintain housekeeping to meet 5S standards.
  • Monitor process controls and KPI's to ensure production goals are meet.
  • Gathers non-routine manufacturing and quality data to address special production issues or projects.
  • Evaluates data and determines trends, recommends areas of focus and presents options for resolution.
  • Coordinates and supports new product launches.
  • Provides input on production routings and capacity such as staffing levels, shift options and space requirements.
  • Interview and train employees
  • Monitors training requirements and assures sufficient cross training to meet production schedule.
  • Provides annual budget recommendations and performs routine variance analysis.
  • Suggests and implements approved corrective action plan to resolve issues.
  • Assists employees in the creation of development plans; works with employees to meet their development needs.
  • Communicates work center/department objectives and results; Interfaces with manager on an as needed basis.
  • Interprets data and information from multiple sources and takes action; identifies problems or issues; gathers additional data from appropriate areas.
  • Recommends actions for resolutions.



Qualified Experience / Skills / Training:



  • HS Diploma or GED required.
  • Bachelors' degree in Business or related field preferred. At least 3 years' experience in manufacturing/production environment required or equivalent combination of education and experience. Prior supervision experience preferred.
  • Experience in manufacturing test environment required (automated systems a plus).
  • Must be able to review and understand written procedures and technical documents in English.
  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and technical.
  • Must be able to communicate effectively through notes and emails. Able to capture concise procedures in a written document.
  • High level of attention to detail and utilize scientific thought and critical thinking.
  • Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from employees and management.
  • Highly proactive and autonomous, a decision maker.
  • Proven experience of managing production deadlines.
  • Interpersonal skills to drive production goals.
  • Ability to work independently and within a team.
  • Strong networking and relations building skills.
  • Solid understanding of test flow and functional inter-relationships.
  • Prior Small satellite manufacturing and test experience preferred.
  • Skilled in the use of Outlook, Excel, Pivot Tables, PowerPoint, Word, SharePoint, and TEAMS.
  • Working knowledge of SAP (or similar ERP system), JIRA, and MES.
  • Ability and willingness to work flexible hours and weekends to meet production goals.



Reports to



  • This position report to the Head of FLM Ops and is located in Merritt Island, Florida.

The employee frequently is required to talk and hear. Based on the position an employee is occasionally required to stand for an extended period of time; walk; reach above shoulders; and stoop, kneel, bend, twist or crouch.
  • The employee must occasionally be able to lift and/or move up to 50 pounds. Specific vision abilities require by this job include close vision.
  • Personal Protective Equipment many be required including safety shoes and glasses. Other protective equipment may also be necessary based on the specific task
