Position Overview


Position Summary
The Title IX Coordinator is responsible for overseeing the university's compliance with Title IX, the federal law prohibiting discrimination based on sex in educational programs and activities. This position ensures a safe and equitable environment for all students, faculty, and staff by managing the university's response to incidents of sexual harassment, sexual violence, and other forms of gender-based discrimination. The Coordinator provides leadership in the development, implementation, and monitoring of the university's Title IX policies, procedures, and programs.

Position required to work during periods of adverse weather or other emergencies
Normal Work Schedule
The work schedule is typically 8-5, Mon-Fri.
This position may require evening or weekend work to respond to incidents or conduct training sessions.
Occasional travel may be required for professional development or training purposes.
Department Required Skills

  • Strong knowledge of Title IX regulations and best practices.
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks and work under pressure.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and other relevant software.

Preferred Years Experience, Skills, Training, Education
Education:

  • Bachelor's degree required; advanced degree in law, student affairs, human resources, or a related field preferred.


Experience:

  • Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in a related field, with a focus on Title IX compliance, human resources, or student affairs.
  • Experience conducting investigations and handling sensitive information with confidentiality.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Certification or training related to Title IX compliance.
  • Experience in a higher education setting.
  • Knowledge of federal and state laws related to discrimination and harassment.
