Environmental, Health, Safety, Manufacturing Excellence and Engineering Communications and Training Specialist

Huntsman is seeking an Environmental, Health, Safety, Manufacturing Excellence and Engineering Communications and Training Specialist supporting the EHS and Manufacturing Excellence and Engineering Division located in The Woodlands, TX. This position will report to the Senior Director, Global Sustainability and EHS Governance.

In summary, as the Environmental, Health, Safety, Manufacturing Excellence and Engineering Communications and Training Specialist, you will:

Internal Communications

  • Manage and coordinate internal communication channels for the EHS function, including newsletters, intranet updates, and other internal platforms.
  • Develop and distribute engaging content to keep employees informed about EHS initiatives, achievements, and updates.

External Communications

  • Oversee the management and updating of external EHS websites to reflect the company's commitment to environmental health and safety.
  • Ensure consistent branding, messaging, and quality across all external EHS-related communications.

Sustainability Report

  • Lead the coordination, design, and publication of the company's annual sustainability report, ensuring alignment with global standards and stakeholder expectations.
  • Collaborate with various departments to collect, review, and validate data and content for the report.

CEO Awards

  • Organize and manage the annual CEO Awards program, recognizing outstanding contributions to EHS across the organization.
  • Coordinate nomination processes, selection panels, and award ceremonies.

Training Coordination

  • Communicate EHS training requirements and opportunities to EHS associates and other stakeholders.
  • Track training fulfillment and compliance, ensuring timely completion and reporting on participation metrics.

Qualifications

You must possess the below minimum qualifications to be initially considered for this position. Preferred qualifications are in addition to the minimum requirements and are considered a plus factor in identifying top candidates.

The candidate must have an unrestricted right to work for Huntsman in the United States.

Minimum Qualifications

Education

  • Bachelor's degree in Communications, Public Relations, Marketing, or a related field.

Experience

  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in communications, training coordination, or a related role.
  • Experience in managing corporate communications and producing reports in a global organization is preferred.
  • A background in EHS or sustainability is a plus.

Skills and Knowledge

  • Exceptional writing, editing, and content creation skills.
  • Strong project management skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines.
  • Proficiency in digital tools and platforms for communication, including CMS platforms, graphic design software, and Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Familiarity with sustainability reporting frameworks such as GRI or CDP is an advantage.
  • Familiarity with event planning is a plus.

Organizational Relationships

  • Internal: Regular interaction with the EHS leadership team, Corporate Communications, Human Resources, Sustainability teams, and IT. Collaborates with EHS associates and other business divisions to align on communication and training needs.
  • External: Engages with vendors, design agencies, and other external partners to support communication and training activities.

Special Features

  • Global Scope: This role involves coordinating communications and training initiatives across multiple regions and adapting content to diverse audiences.
  • Event Management: Includes responsibility for high-visibility programs such as the CEO Awards and sustainability report publication, which require meticulous planning and execution.
  • Hybrid Role: Combines creative content creation with logistical coordination and tracking, bridging communications and operational functions.
