About this opportunity
We are seeking an Operations RMA Engineer, responsible for advanced testing, verifying, and refurbishing of incoming RMA units from the field in a timely manner at a high level of quality. This position will also support the Quality, Support and R&D teams with troubleshooting and root cause analysis.
What you will do
Evaluate, troubleshoot, and test customer returned product down to board level analysis
Repair and refurbish product to production level quality
Assist with documenting and communicating hardware Quality issues to customers and suppliers
Work with Quality and Engineering to optimize Production and RMA test processes and coverage
Identify reoccurring issues and share knowledge with others to assist with defect prevention
Conduct and document Failure Analysis activities on suspect router and modem devices
Assist in maintaining RMA Metrics
Maintain acceptable levels of RMA inventory
Assist with process documentation
Support other departments within Operations as needed
Participate in continuously improving the RMA department and RMA process
The skills you bring
Minimum of two (2) years' experience, or Associates degree in a relevant field (Network Administration, Network Engineering, I.T. Management, and Systems Administration, Electrical Engineering) or equivalent technical certification in electronics, telecommunications
Basic technical understanding of wireless technology concepts including routers, switches, and modems
Understanding of basic networking concepts such as:
LAN/WAN
VLAN
DHCP/DNS Resolution
VPN
Common command-line troubleshooting tools (i.e. ping, ipconfig/ifconfig,traceroute/tracert)
SSH/Telnet
Ability to read device logs and identify patterns.
Understanding of troubleshooting flow best practices
Ability to communicate defect and root cause information to engineering, production, or tech support
Proficient at understanding electrical schematics and electronics test equipment
Bonus Points:
Understanding of basic electrical concepts (Watts/Volts/Amps)
Understanding of through-hole, SMT, and electrical assembly processes
Proficient at performing solder /rework on electronic devices
Advanced knowledge of other vendors' networking solutions
Knowledge of common software services (AD, RADIUS/TACACS+, SNMP managers)

Your Pay
The salary range for this position is listed below. The actual salary offered is dependent on various factors including, but not limited to, location, the candidate's combination of job-related knowledge, qualifications, skills, education, training, and experience.
* $54,000- $81,000
