Webber - Electrical Maintenance Technician - Infrastructure Management

Position Summary

Execute the inspection, repair and maintenance activities related to electrical high/low voltage, motor control centers, electric motor and mechanical assets / systems within the project. On-road incident response as needed.

Primary Duties and Responsibilities

  • Provide day to day scheduled maintenance to assets
  • Perform corrective repairs to systems
  • Ensure work orders are completed in accordance with work procedures and are accurate, and detailed asset data is documented on the specified forms
  • Assist contractors and other technical maintenance staff in executing routing maintenance work to the assets
  • Work with the Maintenance Manager on preventative maintenance plans and procedures
  • Follow up all procedures and protocols for responding to tunnel incidents
  • Assist with relevant training for maintenance and safety in accordance with the Training Plan, to support operational readiness
  • Maintain assigned vehicles and equipment in a correct and responsive condition
  • Complete daily or weekly time sheets as well as maintenance forms of work performed
  • Respond to on-road incidents in accordance with the Incident Management Plans
  • Assist in identifying asset defects or malfunctioning
  • Perform all tasks as instructed by the Maintenance Superintendent / Manager

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities

  • Current knowledge NEC, State and Federal safety, environment regulations preferred
  • Skilled in operating field equipment, such as electrical testers and meters
  • Ability to follow directions and work effectively with other technical maintenance staff and contractors to ensure work carried out safety, professionally and to required quality standards.
  • Ability to read and interpret PLC and electric diagrams and drawings
  • Troubleshooting skills
  • Ability to accurately gather and complete maintenance data forms and reports.
  • Understanding of asset management practices, mechanical and electronic system maintenance and repair.
  • Driven to achieve and take pride in work outcomes.
  • Ability to use power tools and minor equipment such as multimeter, pipe and tube bender, voltage indicators.
  • Working knowledge of high voltage and low voltage (transformers, MCC control panels)
  • Skilled in changing, installing, repair or removal of data communications equipment such as cabling, wires, POS, CCTV, phone systems, computer terminals, audio systems.
  • Knowledge of safely operating tools and equipment: TMA, airbrakes, bucket truck, pickup truck, scissor lift, forklift
  • Excellent computer skills with proficiency in Microsoft products, Wonderware, Allen Bradley

Education and Experience

  • High school Diploma or equivalent
  • Technical trade qualification, Electrician Voice Data preferred (PLC, logic, motor control, HID lighting electrical). (Technical trade qualification can be substituted for 5 years' experience in a civil, industrial, commercial or technical maintenance environment)

Work Conditions/Physical Demands

  • Ability to travel to 17 different structures across two miles, four tunnels and two high via-ducts.
  • Ability to mount and dismount equipment and machinery.
  • Ascend and descend stairs.
  • Ability to lift 50 lbs?
  • Routine exposure to outside weather conditions including heat and cold, wet or humid conditions, working at heights.
  • Maintain an intermediate or advanced MOT certification
  • On-call responsibility for emergencies on evenings and weekends.
  • Ability to provide quarterly closure support for highway and tunnel service.
  • Required to wear Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) appropriate to the tasks.
