JOB SUMMARY The Personal Security Detail (PSD) Personal Protection Officer (PPO) is responsible for the personal protection of designated contract personnel, United States Government (USG) and others as determined by the Program Manager and Director of Security. The PSD PPO will follow established PSD Security Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) to effectively ensure government, contract compliance and International Standard (ISO) 18788. DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Carries out personal protective service assignments to help ensure the safety and protection of clients and under the general direction of the Security Operations Manager and PSD Manager.
- Organizes, manages, and supervises all aspects of the protective detail to ensure that protective security requirements of the contract / ISO 18788 standards are met.
- Performs tasks associated with planning visits for VIPs, including elements related to threat assessments, transportation planning.
- Liaise with the PSD Manager and Deputy Manager to review developments in insurgent capabilities, vulnerabilities, and probable courses of action.
- Inspects and report the condition of security and safety programs on the site.
- Attend all required initial and retraining programs as required and ensure that all Protection Officers (PO) undergo refresher training in weapons, communications, driving skills, basic medical procedures and any other related training as required.
- Exercises discretion in assigning Protection Officers (PO) roles and duties in missions and delegating responsibilities as required.
- Conducts briefing/debriefing sessions before and after each day.
- Responsible for after-hours emergencies at his allocated client POD.
- Responsible for briefing Protection Officers (PO) on SGS policies and procedures and ensuring that all Protection Officers (PO) understand and adhere to company policies.
- Liaises with the Security Operations Center (SOC) on all matters related to mission movement, location, departure, and return.
- Oversee the status and maintenance of the team's vehicles (dispatch and services) and equipment.
- Implements emergency immediate action drills and Standard Operating Procedures.
- Responsible for general supervision of the PSD Team.
- Maintain a high level of Operational Security (OPSEC) standards on and off duty and on leave.

- Complete all assigned administrative duties, site surveys as requested and submit related reports.
- Submits Monthly Sensitive Items Registers to PSD Manager.
- Other duties as assigned by the management.
QUALIFICATIONS
- Must be a US Citizen with a valid passport.
- Successful completion from a DOD, DOS High Threat Protection (HTP), (WPS-1, WPPS-1or -2) and/or internationally recognized civilian Close Protection Course
- Have a valid driver's license.
- Have three (3) years of previous experience working in law enforcement, paramilitary, and/or military organizations (in the case of military service, all military discharges must have been under honorable conditions). If using military service to meet the requirements, the resume must include a DD-214.
- Have three (3) years of experience working experience in hostile, post-conflict environments in protective security services for public, private entity, or military/police, two (2) years of which must have been in a supervisory or command capacity.
- Have knowledge of principles and practices of security operations in the developing world.
- Be skilled in observing situations and decision-making.
- Be skilled in dealing courteously with Principals and others encountered during duty.
- Be able to pass a detailed medical evaluation and maintain physical fitness.
- Be able to communicate effectively and concisely in English, verbally and in writing.
- Able to operate vehicles and equipment, including nighttime operation with vision or corrected vision.
- Be able to operate independently in remote and dangerous locations without guaranteed communications and immediate external support.
- Know how to conduct both static and mobile PSD and security operations.
- Knowledge and understanding of individual and group force protection principles.
- Ability to operate motor vehicles of all types tactically both on and off-road.
- Must demonstrate unique problem-solving skills, the ability to work independently or as part of a team equally and have excellent communication skills.
- Have good marksmanship and be able qualify and remain current in weapons normally carried by military and/or law enforcement officers. (e.g., semi-automatic, pistol and rifles).
- Ability to work well in teams and a collaborative environment.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS AND WORK CONDITIONS
- Able to perform duties for up to 12 hours, often in austere conditions including extreme heat, cold, wind, dust, rain, or snow, while wearing necessary personal protection equipment (PPE) such as body armor.
- Be flexible regarding hours and respond quickly to time sensitive or urgent requirements.
- Able to live and work in harsh climatic and austere living conditions to include the potential for moderate to extreme physical danger.
- Ability to climb, crawl, crouch, bend, stand for long periods, reach above shoulder level, extend arms at awkward angles, lift, and carry objects
