OVERVIEW: Job Title: General Labor Job Type: Hourly, Full-Time Location: Ellsworth Air Force Base, Rapid City, South Dakota Work Schedule: Monday - Friday, some Saturdays depending on the project schedule Performance Evaluated by: Jobsite Project Management ESSENTIAL JOB DUTIES: *RC will gladly provide a reasonable accommodation to assist laborers in performing these essential job functions so long as it does not create an undue burden.
- Work in a high-production environment
- Strictly adhere to and effectively follow all safety and environmental rules and guidelines, and personnel policies
- Safely and effectively assist other positions with various tasks - operate various hand and power tools, measuring/cutting lumber, nailing, retrieving material, rigging loads, signaling operators, holding stakeout tape, rod, plumb bob, prism, setting wood/steel, load/unload/clean trucks, shovel sand, dirt, and stone, loading, unloading, sorting, and organizing materials, general site cleanup
- Be self-motivated and work productively
- A laborer is responsible for most of the physical labor performed on the job
- This position is an entry level position that can be useful in learning more about heavy civil construction prior to attaining a more skilled position such as a concrete finisher or operator
- Laborers will be expected to cooperate and work productively with all other trades
- Loading, unloading, sorting, and organizing materials at the job-site
- Consistently produce quality workmanship as judged by Company Standards
- Must arrive to work by scheduled start time, and be willing to travel to all job sites without exception (including staying away from home if necessary)
- Perform other assigned duties
EDUCATION AND OTHER REQUIREMENTS:
- Experience working in construction or similar trade preferred
- Must be able to obtain and maintain security clearance to access military bases
- Must have reliable means to arrive and leave work at the scheduled start and stop times

- Ability to repeatedly operate a 12-pound sledgehammer throughout the entire workday and workweek
- Ability to climb up and down a 6-foot step ladder and balance
- Ability to work up to a 12-hour shift in all weather and temperature extremes
- Vision adequate to perform all tasks
WORK ENVIRONMENT:
- Employee will be required to wear personal protective equipment as needed to perform job tasks
- Employee is regularly exposed to loud noise, dust, airborne particles, fumes, and various types of smells
- Employee is regularly exposed to moving mechanical parts, vibration, and high precarious places
- Employee is regularly exposed to a variety of inclement weather conditions such as: cold, wet, hot, and/or humid conditions
- Employee is expected to work in a safe and efficient manner while maintaining a clean work area
