Position: Production Worker Location: Franklin, Ohio Hourly Rate: $24.06 Shift Differential - .70 for 2nd shift and .80 for 3rd shift Shift: All candidates will train on 1st shift for up to 8 weeks and then will be transferred to a shift. The shift will depend on what position is open at the time, therefore, candidates must be available to work any shift, ie; 1st, 2nd or 3rd shift. Must be willing to work overtime, to include weekends, as well as 12 hour shifts. * We are a union facility and employees can bid on open jobs/different shifts every January and July OR when a position comes available. Once you are awarded a job/shift, you will stay on this job and shift until the following January or July OR until a position becomes available for you to bid on. There are NO guarantees if you will be selected as this is based on seniority. If you are not selected for a job that you bid on, you will retain the job you are currently in as well as the shift you are currently working.* BENEFITS: New employees are eligible for health benefits on the 1st of the month following their hire date. New employees are eligible for 401k benefits on the 1st of the month following 30 days of employment. New employees who are hired prior to July 1st are eligible for 40 hours of vacation in the current year after they complete 90 days as well as 8 hours of personal absence. New employees hired after July 1st are eligible for 24 hours of vacation in the current year after completing 90 days as well as 8 hours of personal absence. In both cases, the new employee will be eligible for 80 hours of vacation time in January of the next year as well as 16 hours of personal absence. The Franklin, OH Flexibles plant has openings for a Production Worker. This position reports directly to the Department Manager. What You'll Be Doing: Collaborating closely with departments and plant teams to complete basic manufacturing Packs product into boxes, retrieves product from equipment and operates machinery Making incremental process adjustments, monitor and report quality of manufactured products Critical thinking and troubleshooting skills to setup new production jobs Maintain a safe, clean and organized work area Assists other departments as needed We'd love to hear from you if: You have previous manufacturing experience and/or training Read and comprehend standard work instructions, math and measuring Are able to arrive to work on time with a strong attendance record Have basic computer skills Ability to work either 8 or 12-hour shifts/OT/weekends/holidays Ability to lift up to 55 lbs and use roll handling equipment Ability to pass a pre-employment drug screen and background check At Sonoco Products Company, we offer a comprehensive total rewards package, including competitive pay and benefits.
