About the Job

This position provides support for the Office of Human Resources with specific focus on enabling Time, Absence, and Payroll related business processes with technology, such as the PeopleSoft Human Capital Management system and various integrated systems.

Location: Hybrid (remote and Twin Cities Campus)

Responsibilities:

30%- Analysis and functional design

  • Analyze, document, and streamline business processes for Time, Absence, and Payroll related business processes.
  • Proactively develop relationships with internal business partners.
  • Partner with Payroll Business Process owners and system users to elicit and document requirements.
  • Author and review functional design documents used to communicate business requirements to the technology development team.

30%- Facilitate and execute testing

  • Facilitate, support, design, and execute integration and system test plans.
  • Partner with Business Process owners and subject matter experts across modules to test system enhancements and updates.
  • Serve as a positive change driver within the HRMS team, within OHR, and across the University.

30%- Production support

  • Provide system support to ensure that the PeopleSoft HCM application, and related integrated systems, are operational to the University's business.
  • Troubleshoot, analyze, detect, identify and correct problems and deficiencies.
  • Perform configuration and set up in the HCM and integrated systems.
  • Support integrations to other systems (e.g. Recruiting, Benefits, etc).
  • Assist in the development of user procedures, guidelines, and training documentation as needed.
  • Maintain applicable service level agreements.

10%- Support ad hoc business needs

  • Fulfill data requests from business partners.
  • Execute cyclical processes.
  • Provide mentorship for Tier 2 team members.
  • Partner with the product manager to prioritize requests and align to the release schedule.
  • Support team in planning and executing work to meet department goals.

Qualifications

Required Qualifications:

  • BA/BS degree plus two (2) years of work experience in the areas of business or systems process analysis or master's degree.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Previous experience with one or more Human Capital Management (HCM) and/or Payroll systems (PeopleSoft is a plus).
  • Experience with payroll related functions.
  • Experience using query tools including PeopleSoft Query and SQL.
  • Experience using HP Quality Center.
  • Experience working with data systems and reporting in a higher education environment.
  • Proficiency in conducting analysis of human resources business processes and recommending improvements or efficiencies.
  • Ability to operate efficiently in the HRMS pillars independently, with little to no instruction.
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and oral, including communicating technology related concepts effectively with technically proficient and non-technically proficient individuals.
  • Ability to determine appropriate times and methods for communications.
  • Ability to work collaboratively with people with a variety of backgrounds including business representatives from across the University, technology resources from IT, and business process owners.

Pay Range: $75,000 - $85,000; depending on education/qualifications/experience

Time Appointment: 75%-100% Appointment
