The Production Managerwill oversee the remanufacturing operations and paint departments for Sunbelt Solomon's Solomon, KS location. Key and critical responsibilities of each department relate to employee training, safety adherence, performance, product quality, process improvement, and meeting production goals. Additionally, the production manager is responsible for ensuringcompliance with all safety requirements, product quality standards, and company policies are essential functions of this role.



  • Ensure clear and timely communication is being provided to employees regarding the goals and expectations of the department.
  • Drive teams to understand and adhere to culture of safety and quality aligned with company goals and objectives.
  • Enforces safety guidelines for our employees, use of equipment and ensures environmental compliance is being adhered to.
  • Ensure employees complete the required safety and compliance training by scheduled due dates.
  • Teach technical skills as directed and create job aids as needed. Ensure all personnel receive adequate training to perform the tasks assigned
  • Enforces quality standards, following established production processes, looks for opportunity to reduce cost via lean implementations and meets production schedules to ensure on-time shipment
  • Collaborates with the service center manager and production managers and supervisors' direct reports a on daily, weekly, and monthly objectives and communicates these to department leads and employees.
  • Responsible for tracking and reporting daily production metrics to the manager.
  • Work closely with shift supervisors to ensure production handovers are effective.
  • Analyze production data and reports to identify areas for improvement and implement lean strategies to increase efficiency and productivity.
  • Ensure the safe use of equipment and coordinate with the manager if equipment maintenance is required to keep equipment safe, operational and in good appearance.
  • Ensure production output is following assembly and quality inspection processes to achieve quality goals and implement corrective actions as required.
  • Identify and implement process improvements working with the Continuous Improvement and Quality (CIQ) team in alignment with the company strategic direction of standardization.
  • Build strong working relationships with key personnel from outside facilities and internal departments.
  • Ensure all departmental personnel certifications remain up to date.
  • Track absenteeism and timekeeping of employees and working with the manager and human resources put in place corrective actions for excessive and or pervasive issues.
  • Evaluate employee performance, provide feedback, and implement necessary corrective actions.
  • Manage communications with sales, customers, and vendors as appropriate and assigned.
  • Other duties as assigned.
  • 10 years+ multi-department management in the electromechanical and or transformer production, both key areas in the power industry or closely related industries.
  • Advanced skills in MS Office (Word, Excel and PowerPoint) required.
  • WMS (Warehouse Management System) experience preferred.
  • OSHA10 certified preferred
  • Knowledge of Lean Manufacturing or Six Sigma methodologies preferred.
  • A proven track record in safetyand quality excellence is required.
  • Adheres to all safety and environmental compliance regulations set by the organization. Notifies management immediately of any safety concerns, hazardous conditions, or injuries.
  • Ability to interpret work orders and ensure the team has what they need to be set up for success to execute.
  • Meet department and production goals set by manager.
  • Project management experience is preferred.
  • Ensure product quality meets company and client expectations.
  • Possess a strong work ethic, excellent communication skills, problem-solving abilities, cooperative attitude, strong attention to detail and can work in a team environment.
  • Adheres to the company's employee handbook policies and embodies the organization's core values.
  • Ability to learn other department job functions and fill in as needed.
  • Complete company compliance and safety training when required.
  • Ability to work a flexible schedule and work under pressure in a fast-paced work environment.
  • Physical requirements for this role include, but are not limited to the following:
    • Lift 50lbs floor to waist and waist to shoulder multiple times
    • Standing and walking for long durations
    • Bending, squatting, and kneeling multiple times for long durations
    • The ability to climb up and down a ladder multiple times
    • Balance and stand on a ladder with three points of contact for extended periods
    • Comfortable working in the heat and cold due to manufacturing facilities not being climate controlled
