Provides and delegates clinical rehabilitation services to improve and maintain function, focusing on speech, communication, swallowing and cognition activities. Acts as a resource to the interdisciplinary team, applying skills of the profession to improve outcomes of persons served. Actions are team oriented to successfully provide quality care and a high level of satisfaction for persons served through evidence - based practice. Responsibilities Provide diagnostic speech, language and swallowing evaluations for patients referred to department. Therapy is provided under the direction of the attending physician. Responsible for assuring that appropriate patient/family education is carried out for all assigned patients. Qualifications MA or MS degree and Iowa licensure in Speech Pathology with certificate of Clinical Competence in speech pathology preferred. |
