Duties and Responsibilities
- Perform welding and cutting on steel, stainless steel and aluminum
- Must be familiar with safe work practices including but not limited to, lock out tag out, confined space entry, ladder and climbing safety, hot works, etc.
- Repair pipefitting and plumbing
- Repair and replace motors and gear drives
- Repair, rebuild and replace pumps
- Repair high pressure hydraulics, compressed air and steam systems
- Perform general cleaning and painting
- Lift, move and rig heavy/awkward equipment
- Repair, maintain and assist in the operations of waste water, air pollution systems and feed department
- Interact with others in a professional and ethical manner
- Follow department and company procedures
- Keep up regular attendance and punctuality; regular attendance and punctuality are essential for the smooth operation of this company
- Other duties as assigned for the purpose of ensuring the efficient and effective operation of the business. These responsibilities may change from time to time are business needs evolve over time.
Requirements Knowledge, Skills, Abilities, Professional Certifications, Education, Experience and Travel Requirements
- Previous experience in industrial maintenance/repair and welding
- Must have own tools
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Less than 5% travel requirement
Physical Demands/Requirements Constantly (over 2/3):
- Lifting and moving of heavy/awkward equipment with and without specialized lifting, moving and rigging equipment
- Communicates with staff verbally and in writing
- Observes and detect equipment and material in need of repair
- Use of hand tools and power tools
- Moving across wet slippery surfaces
- Exposure to hot and cold temperatures
Frequently (1/3-2/3):
- Lifting and or rigging over 70 pounds
- Exposure to outdoor weather conditions
Occasionally (under 1/3):
- operate powered industrial vehicles including fork trucks or man lifts
- Work in confined spaces; Must be able to position self to perform duties around industrial equipment and materials
