Our Information Technology Team is responsible for computer services and Enterprise Help Desk in support of unmanned rocket launches from the Eastern Range (Cape Canaveral Space Force Station, FL) and the Western Range (Vandenberg Space Force Base, CA).

This position is located at Patrick Space Force Base, FL.

This position is not eligible for a (hybrid) telecommuting schedule / remote. Tasks for this position must be performed largely on-site, but later assignments may be performed remotely

Essential Functions

  • Systematically troubleshoot technical issues and/or complex application, system, and/or network issues including availability, utilization, throughput and latency
  • Plan and execute the selection, installation, configuration, and testing of equipment
  • Define IT policies and procedures
  • Provide feedback and reports to management on the status and availability of the IT network to ensure proper function and identify positive and negative trends
  • Maintain IT network performance by performing network monitoring and analysis, and performance tuning.
  • Analyze IT systems and prepare supporting documentation for performance, stability, interoperability and systems thru the system life cycle issues.
  • Secure IT network by monitoring, control, and evaluation; maintaining documentation IAW DoD standards.
  • Participate in the design and development of integrated solutions to meet customer requirements
  • Perform other duties as assigned

Required Skills

  • Effective communication skills with demonstrated capability to brief project information to management and customers.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills for design, creation and testing of network equipment and infrastructure.
  • Strong organizational and time management skills to balance, plan, prioritize, and execute projects.
  • Ability to work within a dynamic, fast paced environment with time constraints.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team

Required Experience

  • Bachelor's degree in computer science, Information Technology or related field or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Minimum of five (5) years experience in related computer science or IT field
  • Knowledge of Internet Protocols, communication protocols, data and network security
  • Experience working with IT system design principles and applications
  • Experience in the following areas desired:
    • Windows Based and PowerShell scripting
    • DISA STIGs and NOTAMS
    • Windows and SQL Server
    • Network technologies
    • Wireless implementation and maintenance

Additional Eligibility Qualifications

  • Current Security+ CE and CCNA or be able to obtain both within six (6) months of hire date
  • Travel of 25% may be required.
  • The flexibility to work occasional non-duty hours or on weekends to support specific project or mission requirements
  • Must be able to obtain and maintain a DoD Secret Security Clearance, which includes U.S. citizenship
  • Valid U.S. Driver's License
