Fleet Mechanic - Diesel Technician
Day Shift: Mon-Fri
Do you have Truck Repair training or experience and looking for a good new opportunity?
Clarke Vehicare is currently looking for a Fleet Mechanic - Truck Technician to keep up our level of commitment to safety and customer service.
Use of smartphone, laptop and tablet technology to record all repairs. This fleet consists of primarily of Heavy-Duty Vehicles and a small amount of Light Duty Vehicles. What are the Duties?
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Repairs and maintains customer vehicles and mechanical equipment such as engines, motors, pneumatic tools, conveyor systems, and other equipment by performing the following duties:
- Required 2+ years of experience: Perform PMI's on tractors, trailers and other diesel-powered equipment
- Perform all types of engine, brake, drive train, electrical, and A/C repairs. Test drive vehicles under 26,000 GVW.
- Must be able to work independently.
- Standard tech owned tools are required.
- Would be working off site at private customer's location servicing only customer's fleet
- Major shop tools and diagnostic equipment is provided
PHYSICAL and SAFETY REQUIREMENTS
- While performing the duties of this job, the associate will be required to move frequently, stand, walk, and sit. The associate is frequently required to use hands to touch, handle, and feel, and reach with hands and arms. The associate must be able to regularly lift and/or move up to 50lbs and occasionally lift and/or move up to 100lbs with assistance. The associate must be able to read and write reports.
- Implement and enforce Health and Safety rules, regulations, policies, procedures, and prescribed instructions.
EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE
- 2+ Related Truck Fleet Repair Training or Experience
- Preferred- Certificate or Degree from college or technical school Diesel Program a Plus
CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS
- Valid driver's license
- Able to obtain CDL
- Must be able to obtain DOT Med Card
