Summary:
The Intern role provides administrative and project support within assigned department, while gaining valuable, hands-on experience in a healthcare environment.

The Patient Engagement team works with Marketing, Digital and other departments to design, implement and drive understanding and adoption of patient-centered interactions that empower patients and care teams to effectively navigate journeys across MaineHealth. Patient Engagement is a team within MaineHealth's Marketing Communications department that ensures we are listening to, and including, our patients feedback and viewpoint in the organization's decisions. Patient Engagement develops and analyzes internal and external research and uses those findings to create patient-facing materials, internal resources and inform business recommendations.

Intern projects may include:

* Discover project needs and diagnose the current state with key stakeholders
* Inform decisions with patient and care team feedback via surveys (survey development, designing, analysis and presentation)
* Develop patient-facing and internal messaging recommendations
* Create communication plans for various audiences
* Content creation
* Project tracking
* Participate in team meetings and brainstorming sessions
* Exposure to many teams within the healthcare field
* Daily work in various computer programs (MS Outlook, Word, PowerPoint, Excel, Teams)

Preference will be given to undergraduate students pursuing marketing, communications, business, healthcare or related areas.

  1. Education: Student who is currently enrolled in a two-year Associate's Degree program, Bachelor's Degree program, or graduate-level program preferred.
