Summary The Director of Planning will lead the supply chain planning team and will be responsible for managing and executing all planning and inventory management related to producing our premium architectural coatings products. A key function of this role is building cross-functional relationships with senior business leaders, internal customers, and within the team to align planning and inventory strategies with the business strategy. This role will develop and implement critical processes, procedures, and policies to effectively run supply planning, demand planning, and inventory management. These activities will be the foundation for the supply chain planning team and business to maintain service levels, all while contributing to the organization's growth, efficiency, profitability, and overall success.

This strategic leadership role requires a solid understanding of and experience with supply chain processes, supply chain management, and strategic planning while building and maintaining strong relationships with both internal and external partners to ensure alignment with the company's objectives, values, and service standards
- Develop a highly qualified and effective Planning Organization that demonstrates internal cohesiveness and teamwork to ensure effective planning of our diverse product portfolio.
- Serve as the focal point for escalations through the S&OP process, addressing issues such as demand-supply imbalances, distribution capacity, product shortages, and excess stock risks.
- Evaluate and streamline planning processes to ensure compliance, leverage best practices, standardize procedures, increase efficiency, reduce cycle times, and enhance the overall planning experience to ensure a stable supply chain while driving continuous improvement through collaboration, leveraging technology, and feedback from the business to improve decision making.
- Work closely with manufacturing, quality assurance, product development, product marketing, finance and other operational teams/stakeholders to understand their requirements and align planning strategies
- Ensure the planning team partners with manufacturing and distribution sites to proactively mitigate supply risks such as seasonality, promotional events, manufacturing maintenance schedules, and rough-cut capacity planning.
- Collaborate on setting and aligning site inventory targets and implement strategies to avoid write-offs and manage inventory risks.
- Monitor and measure the Planning organization's effectiveness against established performance KPI/metrics.
- Support the implementation of new technologies and/or enhancements to current systems (i.e. ERP, WMS, Advanced Planning Software) to improve the overall Supply Chain performance
- Originates new concepts and innovative approaches in planning and facilitates change management with colleagues and key stakeholders throughout the organization
- Coach, mentor, and champion the team's continued skill development. Set clear expectations that translate to achievable deliverables within the team, all while challenging and providing constructive feedback on performance.

Qualifications
Requirements:
- Requires a bachelor's degree in Business, Operations Management, Supply Chain Management, or related field.
- MBA or relevant advanced degree preferred
- Minimum of 10 years of experience in operations planning or supply chain management, with at least 5 years in a leadership role
- Proven track record of managing and developing high-performing teams
- Industrial manufacturing and/or Business Management experience preferred
- Excellent computer skills; Microsoft Suite
- Expertise in operational software, ERP systems, SAP, and planning tools.
- Experience in demand forecasting, capacity planning, and project management tools
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills with a strong customer-centricity focus
- Must be able to interface at all levels of the organization to solve problems when facing evolving demands
- Excellent organizational and follow-up skills with strong attention to detail
