A Brief Overview

The Department of Radiology at the Children's Hospital of Philadelphia is conducting a wide range of neuroimaging studies related to brain function and structure in typically developing children as well as children with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) and other neurodevelopmental disorders.

We are seeking a full-time Research Assistant to assist in neuroimaging scans for infant and children research participants and perform neuroimaging data analyses. This individual will work closely with our team of imaging techs, principal investigators, psychologists, post docs, research coordinators and other research assistants on the acquisition and analyses of brain imaging research data. The Research Assistant will consent subjects for entry into the required protocol and report to the Principal Investigators on the conduct of the assigned protocol. They will also enter data into study databases, manage data flow, and ensure databases and paperwork are maintained. They will have regular contact with clinical and typically developing populations and their families. Job responsibilities will have an emphasis on assisting with the neuroimaging scans of infants and toddlers.

Prior experience with some or all of these duties is a plus but is not necessary; training will be provided. Successful applicants will be highly self-motivated and fast learners who enjoy working in bustling research and clinical environments. This position offers valuable clinical research experience in preparation for applying to graduate school. As a member of the Department of Radiology, the RA will have the opportunity to attend lectures and seminars on recent findings in autism research, allowing exposure to scientific and clinical leaders in the field.
