The Interim Associate Dean will administer, assess, and suggest updates to academic policies including Probation and Dismissal, Academic Integrity, Grade Change, and Grade Grievance for both Undergraduate and Graduate students. Specific to this role is serving as Co-Director of the First-Year Experience program; the other Co-Director will be come from the Griff Center. The Core Curriculum is taught primarily in the College of Arts & Sciences, and the Associate Dean helps to ensure its effective delivery and completion. The Associate Dean also works closely with colleagues across the campus in supporting students facing academic difficulty, evaluates transcripts for transfer and international students, approves requests for students to take courses at other institutions, advises students planning to study away, problem-solves complex and unexpected curricular issues, manages Independent Study requests, registers transfer students for their first semester, and attends various meetings related to student success, retention, and academic progress. The Associate Dean is also expected to work on unanticipated and special projects as assigned by the Dean.

Partial remote work is possible.
