Highlights of Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Lead a skilled team in the fiberglass fabrication department, to meet project timelines, safety guidelines, and high-quality standards for theme construction.
- Mentor and coach team members while fostering a culture of professionalism, efficiency, and continuous improvement.
- Conduct quality inspections of fiberglass constructions, ensuring alignment of artistic vision and structural integrity.
- Collaborate with the art director to achieve aesthetic excellence while maintaining practical construction practices.
- Promptly resolve any challenges by working with production directors and suppliers.
- Regularly review and optimize fabrication processes and techniques.
- Maintain compliance with regulatory standards.
- Perform other duties and responsibilities as requested or required.
Knowledge and Skill Requirements
- Supervisory experience in the theme construction or related industry is required.
- Related work experience is required; preferably 4 or more years; along with a solid understanding of fiberglass fabrication techniques.
- Effective leadership and team management skills including motivating others.
- Ability to promote and implement organizational policies and procedures.
- Strong reasoning skills to analyze problems and identify solutions.
- Ability to multitask and adapt to changing project requirements.
- Familiarity with hand tools, power tools, and related equipment.
- Chopper gun experience preferred.
- Excellent communication skills, including listening, verbal, and written.
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Ability to read, interpret, and understand documents, including safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, procedure manuals, and blueprints.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office and internet navigation.
Physical Requirements
- Use a computer regularly; listen and communicate clearly.
- Use hands to handle and feel; will stand, walk, climb, balance, kneel, crouch, crawl.
- Lift 70 lbs. floor to waist, 90 lbs. waist to chest, 25 lbs. chest to above head. Carry 50 lbs. for 50 ft. Push a 100-lb. wheeled cart for 100 ft. Drag 50 lbs. for 100 ft.
Work Environment/Schedule
- Typical machinery noise (moderate to loud)
- Typical production environment odors, such as fumes or airborne particles
- Usual schedule is a compressed, 40-hour workweek, M-Th 6:00am-3:30pm, F 6-10am
- Hours vary based on departmental and company needs
