Summary:

Act as a sales coach and consultant to our advisors on our investment products; eventually to IRAs and Qualified Business Retirement plans as well. On a high performing team of deep experts, provide case consultations using sales execution strategies within the context of client financial planning. Possess a mindset of innovation and drive excellence in field sales support by combining product knowledge, investment planning solutions and sales strategies.

Primary Duties & Qualifications:

  • Drive advisor engagement to deliver investment product education and training to support our advisors and their growth. Define the implementation of product solutions to complete financial plans and guide the future of our support activities. Collaborate across departments and divisions to align to our mission and goals by leading high impact projects and/or have liaison responsibilities for various regions, product areas and/or market segment teams.
  • Deliver training on a full breadth of products, markets, sales concepts and related planning topics to advanced audiences (e.g. field leadership and senior management). Deliver expert guidance to a variety of audiences and collaborate closely with the Sales Professionals to help them achieve corporate sales goals. Featured speaker at events in the home office or in the network office on planning, product and markets

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in business, finance, marketing or related field desired.
  • Minimum of 8 years' experience in a financial services environment focused on presenting and educating the audience on a multitude of financial products. In-depth understanding of financial services products including financial planning. Excellent knowledge and application of consultation skills.
  • FINRA Series 7 required
  • Confident ability to consult with the field on complex topics and scenarios and propose effective, needs-based solutions. Ability to identify and address the problems, opportunities, wants and needs of the field and their clients in a suitable manner. Demonstrated ability to be a team player.
  • Excellent ability to assert own ideas and persuade others to a point of view. Ability to gain support and commitment from others while mobilizing them to take action.
  • Demonstrated ability to lead large and/or high impact projects, or has had liaison responsibilities across division or departments for Region, Product or Markets.
  • Demonstrated ability to develop and deliver clear and smooth presentations. Demonstrated ability to carry self well in all settings including large group engagements.

This position has been classified as a Registered Representative under NMIS guidelines and requires fingerprinting.

Compensation Range:

Pay Range - Start:

$75,180.00

Pay Range - End:

$139,620.00

Northwestern Mutual pays on a geographic-specific salary structure and placement in the salary range for this position will be determined by a number of factors including the skills, education, training, credentials and experience of the candidate; the scope, complexity as well as the cost of labor in the market; and other conditions of employment. At Northwestern Mutual, it is not typical for an individual to be hired at or near the top of the range for their role and compensation decisions are dependent on the facts and circumstances of each case. Positions in certain locations (such as California) may provide an increase on the standard pay structure based on the location.
