The New York Independent System Operator (NYISO) manages the efficient flow of electricity on more than 11,000 circuit-miles of high-voltage transmission lines, dispatching power from hundreds of generating units across the state. The New York Independent System Operator (NYISO) applies cutting-edge technology to operating a reliable electricity system, managing competitive markets for wholesale electricity, and planning for the Empire State's energy future. The NYISO's Information Technology department invites applications for a full-time Senior Energy Management System Analyst to join our team. The Senior Energy Management System Analyst is responsible for providing leadership and technical expertise for the overall operation of the Supervisory Control and Data Acquisition (SCADA) for the NYISO's Energy Management System (EMS) by utilizing industry standard protocols. This includes providing leadership as a subject matter expert to establish industry communication standards, requirements, configuration, test, implementation, and support procedures. This individual is also responsible for creating and maintaining systems and documentation subject to compliance with North American Electric Reliability Corporation (NERC), Critical Infrastructure Protection (CIP) Standards and representing the NYISO at relevant industry technical committee and stakeholder meetings, as needed. This position will participate in the on-call rotation providing continuous (24x7x365) support (not shift work) for the SCADA/EMS real-time operation. ESSENTIAL DUTIES and RESPONSIBILITIES
