Goodwill of Colorado is seeking candidates with production (for example retail, restaurant, hospitality, production or similar industries) as well as cash handling experience to become our Retail Generalist Associates. This position will be full-time and will require open availability (including evenings and weekends). Our Retail Centers are open 9:00 a.m. to 9:00 p.m. Mondays through Saturdays and 9:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m. Sundays.

Pay: $16.65 Hr. This position is eligible for Daily Pay! Work today, get paid today! We've partnered with DailyPay, a voluntary benefit to offer employees access to their pay on their own schedule. JOB SUMMARY:

The Associate II, Retail Generalist will have existing knowledge in retail products, merchandising, pricing, and quality inspection. Acting as a back-up for all areas within the Retail Center, the Retail Generalist could be performing multiple tasks in different departments on any given day. These tasks include but are not limited to: donation receiving, processing both hardline and softline goods, working the sales floor, and running the cash registers. The Retail Generalist will work both in a production environment as well as being active on the sales floor. The Retail Generalist will have contact with customers and will need to provide excellent customer service displaying an "Attitude of Gratitude" in order to support the mission of the organization.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:



  • Work closely with department supervisors to determine which areas are short-handed with staff or in meeting Retail Center goals.
  • Accept donations from customers, to include loading/unloading of product ensuring that every item is handled with care to show respect to the donor and for the item.
  • Sort and inspect donated items making decisions on quality and value of product, pricing it accordingly, and researching value as necessary.
  • Uses and becomes certified on pallet jack, forklift, hand dolly or other equipment or tools to effectively move and store donated product.
  • Ensure that the sales floor is well stocked with product according to Retail Center policies and procedures.
  • Provide accurate cashier transactions and a balanced cash drawer with minimal errors using a computer-based point-of-sales system.
  • Assist customers with product questions while providing excellent customer service.
  • Ensure the production and sales floor areas are well organized, stocked, and clean to ensure store presentation and shop ability.
  • Rotating/pulling old/unsold product from sales floor ensuring that our product selection is always new.
  • Help provide a safe working environment for you, customers, and fellow employees.
  • Cross-train in other departments/areas and act as back-up for other areas as required.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.



QUALIFICATIONS:

Education:



  • A High school diploma or equivalent is preferred.


Experience:



  • One (1) year of experience in retail, product placement, or merchandising is desired.
  • One (1) year of cash handling preferred.


Other:



  • Have a high attention to detail and ability to make decisions.
  • Able to adapt to frequently changing work schedules and tasks.
  • Able to withstand prolonged standing, bending, and lifting up to 8 hours per day.
  • Able to lift up to 75lbs, use a dolly and pallet jack as required.
  • Able to obtain Powered Equipment Operator certification to safely operate equipment.
  • Able to work a varied schedule to include weekends, evenings, and holidays with occasional overtime as necessary.
  • Able to communicate effectively with customers, managers, supervisors, staff, and peers.
