What you'll do:

The position of Compliance Assistant Manager is responsible for supporting the second line of defense Regulatory Compliance Testing Program Manager helping ensure testing activities run smoothly, efficiently and on schedule; and aiding in leadership, training, and supervision over the execution of testing activities and reporting.

The Compliance Assistant Manager will primarily guide the team members to ensure they make progress on quarterly testing execution. Create strategies to reach testing deadlines, distribute assignments and tasks to testing team members, and conduct regular check-ins on the progress of testing assignments.

Responsibilities:

  • Guide the team to ensure continued progress on quarterly testing execution.
  • Make recommendations for first line process improvements for issues identified through testing.
  • Provide secondary oversight for written communications with first line.
  • Communicate identified issues resulting from testing to first line managers, as necessary.
  • Oversee the execution of the Testing Program standards.
  • Assist with completion of reports to risk committee(s) / senior management.
  • Recommend and implement process improvements for Testing Program.
  • Update Testing Program procedures, guides, and templates, as needed.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in law or business administration or a related field; or 7+ years' equivalent experience in research or regulatory compliance administration, risk management, internal audit, internal controls or other relevant experience.
  • Knowledge of compliance laws and regulations applicable to large financial institutions and / or the mortgage industry.
  • Subject matter expert of federal, state banking laws and regulations, such as ECOA, HMDA, TRID, UDAAP, and Privacy Compliance, with the capability to research and analyze other regulatory requirements.
  • Prior experience in regulatory compliance testing.
  • Demonstrated ability and success in interacting with senior leadership, including executive management.
  • Strong verbal, written and analytical skills particularly regarding assessing and communicating the severity and root cause of identified issues related to the probability and impact of regulatory control deficiencies.
  • Organize and manage time appropriately based on established timelines to meet department objectives.
  • Expert knowledge of Excel and PowerPoint.
  • Certified Regulatory Compliance Manager (CRCM) designation is preferred.
Compensation: Salary range for new hires is generally $114,910.00 - $141,946.00 for Westlake Village, CA. Salary amount is determined by specific job location. In addition, the role may be eligible for annual bonus/incentives earned and restricted stock.
