Position Overview: This position provides Intelligence Systems Administrators to the Joint Multinational Readiness Center (JMRC) Operations Group (OPSGRP) located at Hohenfels, Germany. JMRC's mission is to train Multinational Interoperability to US, NATO, and partner nation forces up to the Brigade level in an extended Live, Virtual, and Constructive Decisive Action Training Environment. JMRC supports the US Army Europe theater security cooperation plan through planning and participation in NATO and U.S. Army Europe exercise programs. The Intelligence Systems Administrator is a technical expert (TE) knowledge of Intelligence systems in support of JMRC. The Intel Systems Admin work in support of JMRC rotations/exercises includes planning, coordination, integration, maintenance and execution support to configure and operate DCGS-A clients and virtual servers on the Tactical Services Infrastructure (TSI) Stacks, ETRAX and CD1. Intel Systems Admins also deliver software that enables Army operational readiness and develops, integrates and maintains Army Command, Control, Communications, Computers, Intelligence, Surveillance and Reconnaissance (C4ISR) architecture. Duties:
- Conducts functional testing of Intelligence Systems, and writes and updates system documentation, procedures and training materials.
- Configure, maintain, patch, and harden Windows, ESXi/VMWare, and Red Hat Linux operating systems.
- Configure, maintain and upgrade software base lines.
- Perform SQL installations, administration, patching, hardening, and troubleshooting.
- Provide on-site diagnostic and corrective actions at and remote site during exercises.
- Perform Active Directory (AD) administration and user access control.
- Analyzes complex system issues and takes actions to rapidly resolve problems.
- Working knowledge of Cisco switches to include but not limited to requirement analysis, setting up trunk ports, Access Control Lists (ACL), and Virtual Local Area Networks (VLAN).
- Responsible for functional testing and implementation of backup and disaster recovery of Linux and Windows operating systems.
- Provides technical support, diagnoses, and resolves operating system and network problems.
- Provides technical support to assist users with isolating problems and participates in the development of system upgrades to meet client needs.
- Analyzes detail systems factors, including input and output requirements, information flow, hardware and software requirements, and reliability characteristics.
- Responsible for backup and disaster recovery of Linux and Windows operating systems.
- Makes recommendations to purchase hardware and software, coordinates installation and provides backup recovery.
- Performs checks on applications, databases, and systems. Resolves errors to ensure availability.
- Uses remote system administration software.
- Assists Information Assurance (IA) staff with all documentation required for accreditation and any other associated directives and regulations. Understands Information Assurance methodology and security principles.
- Performs post software installation upgrades and Information Assurance Vulnerability Alert (IAVA) patching.
- Provides documentation and remediation for IA findings.
- Assist with maintaining all related information security documentation and artifacts to meet continues monitoring and compliance criteria.
- Excellent communication skills, able to explain technical issues and propose courses of action to leadership.
Required Education and Experience:
- A Bachelor's degree plus 3 years of recent specialized experience, OR;
- An Associate's degree plus 7 years of recent specialized experience, OR;
- A major certification plus 7 years of recent specialized experience, OR;
- 11 years of recent specialized experience
Desired Skills and Qualifications
- Familiar with scripting languages to automate tasks.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office products, to include PowerPoint, Excel, and Word.
- Ability to work long hours on consecutive days/nights in support of exercise preparation, execution, helpdesk, evaluation and close-out.
- Experience with DCGS-A a must.
- Knowledge of Palantir (CD1, AIDP) is beneficial.
- Familiarity with multi-Domain operations is advantages.
- Possess TOP SECRET clearance.
