The Clinical Director is responsible for developing and overseeing clinical support programs, including but not limited to contact center and field-based clinical services. The Director will serve as a strategic advisor to our biopharmaceutical clients, as well as stakeholders, as clinical services are developed and operated within the organization. They will be responsible for maintaining and deepening relationships with vendors, clients, and clients' customers, including health care providers. The Clinical Director will collaborate with consultants, contact center program management, contact center teams, and field teams to deliver services on behalf of the client and will also participate in sales activities.

A critical part of this role is designing fit-for-purpose nursing programs tailored to patients' specific treatment plan journeys and maximizing our customers' goals and patient outcomes. The leader will need to continually optimize these programs through new initiatives that demonstrate value to the customer. Designing these programs requires consideration of a range of factors, including patient needs, disease state, drug delivery methods, adherence challenges, and other relevant aspects.

The selected candidate will oversee field clinical education services, as well as manage field-based nurses and other clinicians. The Clinical Director will work with operations management and client management to ensure that the clinical teams remain current with policies and systems, specific field issues of interest to the relevant audience, program protocols, operational processes, and any special cases or issues relating to specialty product support programs.

Responsibilities include:

  • Develop and maintain client relationships.
  • Provide strategic direction to clients and vendors on overall clinical program structure and delivery.
  • Design and implement fit-for-purpose nursing programs tailored to patients' specific treatment plan journeys, aimed at maximizing both patient outcomes and client goals.
  • Consider factors such as patient needs, disease state, drug delivery methods, adherence challenges, and more when designing clinical programs.
  • Continually optimize programs through new initiatives that demonstrate value to the customer and enhance outcomes.
  • Assist in hiring and developing Clinical Managers and potentially other field-based and contact center clinicians.
  • Work with clinical managers to ensure that our teams deliver high-quality services that bring value to our clients.
  • Ensure that clinical teams develop and update content in keeping with client requests and needs. Lead client meetings as appropriate.
  • Collaborate with clients, vendors, and Neovance consultants and managers to understand client clinical needs and refine and develop clinical services that meet objectives.
  • Develop and conduct product-specific trainings for Clinical Managers and other clinical team members.
  • Help teams identify program trends and opportunities for intervention and provide recommendations to clients.
  • Handle escalated customer and client issues that arise on clinical programs. Assess issues; work with teams to develop action steps; and ensure that resolutions are implemented.
  • Train, shadow, manage, and review Clinical Managers.
  • Review and contribute to regular summary reports for clients.

Qualifications (Minimum Required):

The Clinical Director must maintain polish and presence with clients and customers. Effective communication and presentation skills are critical. This individual must be self-motivated and proactive and possess strong people management skills.

  • A nursing (RN) or other medical degree.
  • A bachelor's degree with graduate study highly preferred.
  • Proven leadership ability and people management skills, client savvy, and strong verbal and written communication, organization, and very strong presentation skills.
  • Knowledge of business protocol and time management skills.
  • Demonstrated problem solving and decision-making skills with the ability to "think on his or her Feet" and suggest alternatives and solutions.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint, Word, and Outlook and demonstrated analytical skills.

Experience (Minimum Required):

  • 10+ years' relevant clinical experience and 5+years clinical management experience.
  • A strong knowledge base in our business or similar industry including experience developing and managing clinical field services, clinical contact center programs.
  • Must have experience in providing clients with program strategic direction.
  • Experience leading audio conferences, presentations and training and managing high performing clinical staff.
