Job Title: UNIX System Administrator
Location(s): Sacramento, CA (Remote)
Responsibilites:
O AIX/IBM System Administrator, Maintenance, Upgrades, and Troubleshooting.
O Provisions AIX virtual server builds in PowerVM.
O Maintain documentation and diagrams associated with UNIX infrastructure environment.
O AIX/IBM Vulnerability Remediation.
O App Migrations from AIX/IBM to RHEL/x86.
O IBM Power Lifecycle Migration.
O AIX LPAR Integration with CMDB.
O Red Hat Enterprise Linux Administration, Maintenance, Upgrades, and Troubleshooting.
O Red Hat Enterprise Linux Vulnerability Remediation.
O Other Duties as assigned.
Mandatory Requirements:
O Minimum five (5) years' experience
O Must have experience with either IBM Power and AIX in an Enterprise level environment.
Technical Requirements:
O Experience with system build process and procedures in a virtual environment.
O Experience with troubleshooting of AIX based environment.
O Experience with the creation of monitoring capabilities to assist in troubleshooting, preventative maintenance, and monitoring of the UNIX based environment.
O Experience with IBM POWERVM virtualization environment (AIX)
O Experience hardening Operating Systems to meet information security standards.
Desirable Qualifications:
O Experience with shell scripting/programming.
O Experience with PowerHA.
O Experience with IBM Big Fix Patch Management.
O Experience with IBM Tivoli Monitoring.
O Experience with Ansible.
O Experience with physical server hardware break/fix.
O Experience administering Red Hat Enterprise Linux in an enterprise environment.
Assumptions:
O It is expected that the contractor will be entirely remote.
O Contractor must have reliable internet, work exclusively within the United States, and be made available for any meetings generally scheduled between the hours of 9 AM and 4 PM Pacific Time.
O 36 Hour Work Week:
. Monday to Thursday // 8:00AM - 4:30PM PST (30min lunch)
. Friday // 8AM - Noon PST (Flexible). Friday's, after-hours and weekend work, required as needed.
