Parkour Instructor - Ninja Classes-Kroc Center-Part-time

We are looking for energetic, fun, and kid-loving people who love jumping, twisting, and flipping through challenging obstacle courses! Martial Arts/Parkour/Tumbling experience is a plus but willing to train for the right fit. Classes focus on skills related to coordination, agility, strength, and speed for a unique sports experience. This is a part-time position with up to 18 hours per week. Must be available evenings as needed.

KROC CENTER MISSION

In keeping with the mission of The Salvation Army, The Ray and Joan Kroc Corps Community Center provides facilities, programs and services that strengthen, encourage, and enrich children, adults, and seniors through positive life-changing experiences.

SUMMARY/PRIMARY PURPOSE:

The Parkour Instructor will safely lead participants through fun and engaging activities to develop character and confidence in Parkour. Participants will learn Parkour skills, putting them into action, while learning to work with others in the class and challenging themselves safely outside their comfort zone.

  1. Proactively ensure a safe recreation environment for all Kroc Center staff, volunteers, members and participants.



  1. Assist in the planning, directing, and guidance of Parkour activities at the Kroc Center.



  1. Teach / lead various activities in Parkour and related areas.



  1. Assist in the development of systems that safeguard all facilities, supplies and equipment related to the program.



  1. Ensure the attractive appearance, operational function, and general upkeep of the equipment and furnishings.



  1. In conjunction with the facilities department, establish an on-going preventative maintenance program for the Parkour equipment.



  1. Assist in the preparation of progress reports, records, invoices, collections, and evaluations.



  1. Assist in the development of programs and promotional strategies to increase athletic programs attendance and revenue.



  1. Participate in designated staff training and professional development courses, as well as staff meetings, as directed by supervisor.



QUALIFICATIONS

MATERIALS AND EQUIPMENT: Uses a variety of office equipment including a computer, telephone, fax machine, copiers, printers and projection machines. Operate motor vehicles in the execution of some essential functions.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS REQUIRED:



  • Must be at least 18 years old for instructor position



EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:



  • High school degree or equivalent preferred.


  • One year experience in Parkour, or related teaching experience


-OR-



  • Any equivalent combination of training and experience which provides the required knowledge, skills, and abilities.



LICENSES AND CERTIFICATIONS: First Aid, CPR and AED Certification for Adult, Child, and Infant. A valid Wisconsin Driver's license with clearance to drive from The Salvation Army's insurance carrier is preferred.

  • Strong computer skills, including use of Microsoft Office products, e-mail, and Internet.

Work environment characteristics at the Wisconsin & Upper Michigan Division Kroc Center are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. This job is performed in a community center environment, typically in a gymnasium or fitness studio setting. These are climate controlled areas but temperatures may vary depending on crowd size. The noise level can be moderate to loud in this setting.

For other duties of this job, such as outdoor special events and community center activities, the employee may be exposed to weather conditions prevalent at the time.

The noise level in the work environment at these events is usually moderate to loud.
