As a Lifeguard at the Green Bay Kroc Center you can choose to work morning, afternoon, evening or weekend shifts. Pool hours are Monday-Friday 5:30am - 1:00pm and 4:00pm - 8:30 pm and Saturday from 6:30 am- 5:30 pm. As a Morning Lifeguard, you will keep a watchful eye during group fitness classes, splash play and swim lessons taking place. Afternoon/Evening Lifeguards, will be on deck during the times when swim lessons teach life-saving skills, underwater hockey enthusiasts challenge the depths, and families create aquatic memories. A Weekend Lifeguard oversees the lively open swim windows filled with family activities and exciting features like our splash play area with water tipping bucket and other water features including the always in demand indoor/outdoor water slide. A key role of all Lifeguard positions is monitoring activities, providing assistance, and enforcing safety regulations. Adhering to the State of Wisconsin approved aquatic staffing plan, you'll ensure a secure aquatic environment during pool hours. General facility maintenance and cleaning duties will also be part of your responsibilities. Join us at the Kroc Center to be the watchful guardian of aquatic fun and safety. KROC CENTER MISSION In keeping with the mission of the Wisconsin & Upper MI Division of The Salvation Army, The Ray and Joan Kroc Corps Community Center located in Green Bay, WI provides facilities, programs and services that strengthen, encourage, and enrich children, adults, and seniors through positive life-changing experiences. SUMMARY/PRIMARY PURPOSE: The Lifeguard will assist with the implementation of programs, special events, and swim lessons. The Lifeguard will also monitor activities, observe and provide assistance to swimmers, prevent accidents, protect life and enforce regulations. The Lifeguard will also ensure they are positioned in accordance with the State of Wisconsin approved aquatic staffing plan. Position is also required to assist with general facility maintenance and perform other maintenance and cleaning duties as assigned. Rescue swimmers in danger of drowning and provide first aid and CPR when needed.

The noise level will be high. Temperatures will be above normal room temperature in a high-humidity environment. This position will have exposure to chemicals and fumes typically found in a pool environment, as well as exposure to bodily fluids and other potentially infectious materials. For other duties of this job, such as outdoor special events and community center activities, the employee may be exposed to weather conditions prevalent at the time. The noise level in the work environment at these events is usually moderate to loud. The schedule for the department requires employees to work weeknights, weekends, and holidays as needed.
