Description Acara Solution and our client in Manassas, VA have a contract-to-direct hire position available. Advanced Electrical Engineer $75.00 per hour Here's what you'd do: Analyze and design AC-DC and DC-DC power systems and power control Integrate, test, troubleshoot, and verify electrical hardware Develop test criteria and assist in the design of test systems Perform component and architecture trade studies to determine optimal system solutions to design hardware and electronics based on commercial and industry components and technologies Design cable assemblies Develop new electronics in the form of PCB designs and corresponding tests Develop technical presentations, recommendations, and written communications to explain technical issues to program management and the Navy customer Generate design and interface documentation. Job Requirements Required Skills / Qualifications: Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering or Science or Engineering or Mathematics Minimum of 5 years experience with the engineering development life cycle, including concept, requirements, design, implementation, and test phases Minimum of 5 years experience with MIL-STD-1399 and MIL-STD-461 design and qualification Minimum of 5 years experience with design and debugging of switch mode DC-DC converters, including knowledge of control loop stability analysis Minimum of 5 years experience with design and debugging of 3-phase AC-DC conversion, including transformer design Minimum of 5 years experience in common communication interfaces such as RS-422, RS-485, and LVDS Minimum of 5 years experience in analog and digital circuit design Minimum of 5 years experience with lab equipment, including signal generators, high-speed oscilloscopes, power analyzers Minimum of 5 years experience in all phases of PCB design, including the creation of high-level functional diagrams, SPICE analysis, power analysis, component selection, schematic entry, and working with the PCB layout team to optimize placement, signal integrity, fitment, etc. Preferred Skills / Qualifications: Master's Degree OrCAD Capture experience Experience with firmware or microcontrollers Experience with VHDL/Verilog Strong documentation and communication skills.
