Master Metrology Technician

As Master Metrology Technician, you will provide organization, communication, oversight, leadership, training, and administration of calibration Standards, also provide/oversee Lifecycle management (e.g. Calibration, Maintenance, and Repair) for Metrology Standards in adherence with Roche cGMP/GLP policies, procedures and processes. You will manage personal workload to meet scheduled and basic finish dates. Provide on-the-job training to Metrology personnel, and technical guidance / proper use of calibration Standards to Metrology and Instrumentation personnel.

In addition, you will represent Metrology, locally and globally, on multidisciplinary project teams, presenting data and responding to inquiries to improve customer service, to provide technical data, and assist in determining best practices and align processes.

The Opportunity

• Perform Calibration, preventative maintenance and repair on over 100 different models of GMP laboratory equipment standards. (including Thermocouples, Thermistors, RTDs, Multi meter, Pressure meters... ect).

• Oversee day to day operations in the Metrology Temperature Laboratory. Thorough knowledge of the fundamental electrical, mechanical, physical, and operating principles of industrial process instrumentation and systems.

• Ability to navigate and use corporate intranet, applications, software, MET Calibration, BMRAM, SAP, standard word processing, and spreadsheet programs. In depth knowledge of cGMP and GLP practices.

• Thorough knowledge of ISA standards and practices for instrumentation. Safe operation of tools and shop equipment, and safe execution of work in the field.

• Assist in the review of the Metrology teams scheduled Work Orders to ensure work is being executed per the Basic Finish Date.

• Assist in maintaining Metrology GMP training structure to ensure material is accurate and up to date.

• Other duties as assigned by management.

Who You Are

• You have 5 years' experience in GMP Instrumentation calibration, preventative maintenance and repair.

• Completion of an Instrumentation or Industrial Electronics Certificate (2-year) or completion of equivalent military training.

Preferred Requirements

• You hold a Bachelor's degree in Electrical engineering, facilities engineering or equivalent.

• You have 5 years' experience as a Metrology Technician or equivalent.

• You have 2 years' experience in a Primary Temperature Laboratory.

Behaviors, competencies, and qualities of the ideal Master Metrology Technician

• Ability to read and interpret P&IDs, engineering documents, and schematics.

• Ability to read and interpret electrical schematics.

The expected salary range for this position based on the primary location of South San Francisco, CA is 79,500.00 - 147,600.00 USD Annual.Actual pay will be determined based on experience, qualifications, geographic location, and other job-related factors permitted by law.
