The Department of Management in the Trulaske College of Business

Job Description

The Department of Management in the Trulaske College of Business at University of Missouri (MU) invites applicants with excellent teaching credentials and/or a mix of teaching and work experience for a non-tenure track (NTT), full-time teaching position. The person selected must be available to start teaching undergraduate classes on campus by mid-August 2025. Overall teaching load will be equivalent to twelve credit hours per semester. This is not a remote-work position; however, some online courses may be scheduled.

This position is expected to include teaching sections of our introductory management course, and will include some management of student workers or teaching assistants. Other courses may be assigned based on instructor skills and experience and departmental needs. Some study abroad teaching opportunities may be available. The successful candidate is expected to assume active service roles related to curriculum development and quality assurance at department and college levels.

Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications:

Candidates must have already completed a master's degree in business or related field from an accredited institution.

Candidates will be evaluated:

Prior industry and professional knowledge/experience and a record of excellence in teaching; industry experience; evidence of collaborative team participation. Relevant industry or professional certifications will be viewed favorably.

Key skills sought include:

Ability to engage students in both large and small section formats and in both face-to-face and l 00% online formats, effective use of a variety of assessment methods, currency in business, familiarity with learning management systems, and collegiality in service roles involving curriculum design, integration, and evaluation. The college and the department emphasize experiential learning for our students.

The Trulaske College of Business consists of over 80 full-time faculty members who serve approximately 5,000 undergraduates, nearly 300 master's students, and 35 doctoral students. The Department of Management consists of 14 tenure-track faculty members and 16 full-time teaching faculty who share a strong commitment to excellent teaching. The department includes full-time faculty with expertise in strategy. entrepreneurship, organizational behavior, human resources, supply chain management, management information systems, business law, and business communications.
